not really.
Just an exemple : the 2 Sikorski used for the Bin Laden Pak raid. They were modified so as to be quieter and stealthier.
Quieter: true. Lower infrared signature: true. Lower RCS: partly true. The reduction in rcs is not significant enough.
For the most part, both these choppers flew under the radar for the bin laden strike. Most airborne vehicles can mask themselves performing nap of the earth flying

In general stealth or LO helicopters are pointlesd. This is the reason why the US Army killed off its Commanche program.

The best offensive capability of helicopters is the ability to fly low to evade radar. Here you don't need uber expensive Abottabad style stealth helicopter. Gulf War 1 proved that non-LO Apache can do the job of infilitrating enemy radar sites. So no need to spend more on fancy LO shaping and coating.

It is one of the design goal of the Rafale my dear....

My dear please recollect your thoughts. You're lost in the bush. You were talking about the utility of stealth helicopters citing Abottabad raid:

not really.

I replied that stealth choppers are pointless:

Now out of nowhere you injected Rafale my dear. How is that relevant to the issue of stealth helicopters?

If you agree flying low is an asset for Helo, why isn't be one for a fighter ? Just forget one minute that it is Rafale, and your brain will run healthily.

This asset was usefull when in July a turkish air base in Lybia with radars and SAM was bombed. And no montains to hide. Just... low flying and... Spectra.

So you will replace a helicopter with Rafale on missions where helicopter is best optimized for just because Rsfale can also fly low? Brilliant! You're tying yourself in knots.

BTW, without Spectra, US Army Apaches destroyed Iraqi AD radars in the opening night of Desert Storm. That's what helicopters can bring to the fight aside from being able to insert troops without the need of an airstrip. Those Apaches were not designed to be stealthy to radar by shaping and coating.

In a first, the US Air Force uses AI on a military jet

Defense officials touted the test as a watershed moment for a technology intensely debated in aviation and arms control communities

The Air Force allowed an artificial-intelligence algorithm to control sensor and navigation systems on a U-2 Dragon Lady spy plane in a training flight Tuesday, officials said, marking what is believed to be the first known use of AI onboard a U.S. military aircraft.

The AI system was deliberately designed without a manual override to “provoke thought and learning in the test environment

The AI was trained against an opposing computer to look for oncoming missiles and missile launchers. For the purposes of the initial test flight, the AI got the final vote on where to direct the plane’s sensors.
The point is to move the Air Force closer to the concept of “man and machine teaming,” in which robots are responsible for limited technical tasks while humans remain in control of life-or-death decisions like flight control and targeting.

US Air Force’s sixth generation fighter engine completes testing

GE-Adaptive-Cycle-Engine-1-14-screenshot-1024x576.jpg

GE-XA100-19052021.jpg

Key innovations of the XA100-GE-100 engine

  • An adaptive engine cycle that provides both a high-thrust mode for maximum power and a high-efficiency mode for optimum fuel savings and loiter time
  • A third-stream architecture that provides a step-change in thermal management capability, enabling future mission systems for increased combat effectiveness
  • Extensive use of advanced component technologies, including ceramic matrix composites (CMC), polymer matrix composites (PMC), and additive manufacturing

This is the other half of combat aircraft technology, training. USAF and allies are now training against VLO planes, such as the F-117, F-35 and F-22s.

I see French are very jealous of f35 and always keep demeaning it.. why so ?
Isn't it obvious on why the French tend to shit on the fat amy?
=>So many deals that were supposed to be won by Dassault's Rafale eventually ended up with F-35 as the winner.
=>France has never developed a fifth generation fighter itself on its own unlike America, venting out frustration is normal, our BONPLAN here is just another example of such guys.
=>Now France wants to directly go for a sixth generation plane and skip the development of a fifth generation one. Read about FCAS.
