Who is this guy? Sounds like democrat/ liberal. I am not following this issue but I don't think Russians are going for a dance party at borders. His confidence of Russia not attacking Ukraine is amusing. I would really love to revisit this tweet after few days/ months maybe.

Also add to this,

Ukraine also have Uragan (Hurricane), the self-propelled MLRS. Each 16-tube 220mm launcher is capable of concentrating fire on Russian troops at ranges of up to 35km.

This is the Typhoon-2 missile for the modernized Bureviy complex (70 km). It's just being tested right now. The old 220mm missiles cannot be guided individually,

Do you actually read what I write? We have something to answer.
Unfortunately, the development of 400-mm MLRS is not funded, but there are new missiles for 300-mm MLRS.
no because I did not see it unless you posted about 10 pages or so back? Are there even range estimates to this?

Not everything is great in the Russian army, what do you think. These are exercises near Voronezh. Old, not even modernized T-72B.
They exist but so do T-72B3s and T-90s unless you think they will go very easy on you guys.

What if I was to tell you that the koalition howitzers have a 70-80km depending on sources and that they are creating ammunition which might be ramjet engines with it to bump it to 170kms? If i remember correctly I think it fires 16-20 rounds per minute and god knows if nuclear shells which were banned by the U.S. and Russia would be re-introduced since its cool to ban treaties now for both countries. and of course Russia's MRLS systems already outrange this which I didnt have to bother bringing up again here.

Are you watching video? In the echelons that are moving towards the border, proven systems and not a prodigy.
300 mm Vilkha-M --125 km. Like Tornado-S.

Russia is highly unlkely to attack Ukraine in the immediate future & will wait for the Beijing Winter Olympics to conclude. The Russian military build-up is still underway & is not yet completed. Hence, hostilities ae unlikely for another 3 weeks. But interestingly, the US is now positioning 3 carrier battle groups in the Soujth China Sea, i.e. the USS Carl Vinson, USS Ronald Reagan & USS Abraham Lincoln. This indicates that China might try to take to take advantage of the Russia-Ukraine crisis & launch an invasion of Taiwan’s Pratas Island astride the Bashi Channel. For, since January 15, China has not despatched any PLAAF/PLAN combat aircraft into Taiwan’s ADIZ, choosing instead to send only turboprop-powered MR/ASW & SIGINT platforms. This may well mean that the PLAAF combat aircraft pilots are being given some rest in lieu of an impending high-intensity air campaign in the South China Sea.

Yeah, that's a fair Question... Why suddenly Chinese stopped showing up on Taiwan’s ADIZ?

Ammos arriving

Apparently this has been happening for some time this week. Some Twitter reports indicate that large shipments of US Javelin missile systems have been delivered.

If I were the Russians, I would want to expand strategic influence into Ukraine at least up to the Dnieper river and control the outlet and see lanes into the black sea, with the ability to block shipping at the Odesa port.

Tornado-S is 200kms but since Russians are close to borders we can assume Ukrainian artillery might be close to borders meaning Russian soldiers could get hit, but you know good old Russia has alot of tools for warfare.

Rtut-BM (deagel.com)

The Rtut-BM, 'Mercury-BM' in English, is an electronic warfare (EW) system intended to protect troops and equipment from artillery rockets and shells equipped with proximity fuses which explode at 3-5 meters of altitude. The Rtut-BM affects the proximity/radio-controlled fuse making it explode at higher altitudes keeping the troops and equipment safe. Besides, the system is able to neutralize radio-frequencies employed by the enemy's communications. The Rtut-BM system is deployed on an MT-LB armored vehicle fitted with a television antenna which provides coverage for an area of 50 hectares (500,000 square meters) or a semi-sphere of 400 meters radius. The antenna can rotate -/+150-degree and its jamming signal can last for six minutes. This EW system requires a crew of two-man and can be ready for jamming within 10 minutes. The KRET corporation has been manufacturing and delivering KRET systems to the Russian Armed Forces since 2011.

So if Ukrainian artillery does fire back the artillery rockets will detonate before touching them and by than longer range russian artillery rocket systems will be hitting Ukrainian artillery systems and if all is destroyed the job will be already done from these EW systems. Gaining intelligence of where the Russian military can be located will be difficult as well.

Russia’s military base in Tajikistan employs latest jamming station for first time

The Pole-21 electronic countermeasures station is intended to protect strategically important facilities against cruise missiles, drones and guided air bombs

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. The personnel of Russia’s military base in Tajikistan held their first drills with the latest Pole-21 jamming station that will go on combat duty soon, the press office of the Central Military District reported on Wednesday.

"At the Lyaur training range, the electronic warfare personnel practiced procedures within the required time limits to install the Pole-21 system on unequipped terrain and deploy radio interference posts. They checked the equipment’s switch-on and tuning in a test mode, the operability of the radio suppression apparatus, control and power supply units," the press office said in a statement.

The Pole-21 jammer will soon go on combat alert to protect the facilities of Russia’s 201st military base against cruise missiles, drones and guided air bombs. The station is capable of suppressing radio signals of global satellite and radio-navigational systems.

The press office of the Central Military District reported on December 2 that the latest jamming station Pole-21 had entered service with the grouping of electronic warfare systems at Russia’s military base in Tajikistan for the first time.

The Pole-21 electronic countermeasures station is intended to protect strategically important facilities against cruise missiles, drones and guided air bombs by way of radio suppression of the equipment connected to global satellite and radio-navigation systems.

The latest station’s equipment makes it possible to set up as many as 100 radio interference posts.

The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. The military base is stationed in the cities of Dushanbe and Bokhtar. The military base’s armament includes T-72 tanks, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Grad multiple launch rocket systems, Gvozdika and Akatsiya artillery systems.

Under an agreement signed in October 2012, Russia’s military base in Tajikistan will remain until 2042.
