There is a possibility that Russia has to abandon all treaties with USA and Europe and fight openly in Ukraine. I foresee such an eventuality.

Americans can circle over like vultures over the dead bodies of Ukraine and will not be able to fight openly. Ukraine is not in NATO and USA's options are limited.

Americans will amass land forces and naval forces nearby but Russia can always choose to ignore them.

There is no going back now. The situation has deteriorated beyond the point of reasonableness.

Americans possess massive air-power and naval power but this conflict will test the limits of US power. The Euro is doomed as confidence in Europe is going down by the day.

This conflict will re-establish the role of nuclear arms in the balance of power equation.

"The line between the opposition and the" fifth column "inside, it is difficult to see outside. What is it? Oppositionist, even very hard, in the end to end fighting for the interests of their country, and the "fifth column" - these are the people who perform what is dictated by the interests of other states, and they are used as a tool to achieve political goals alien to us "

Russia should withdraw from WTO in response to new sanctions

3/13/2015
In response to new sanctions Russia should withdraw from WTO
Translated from Russian by J.Hawk

Russia has the right to part ways with WTO or to stop abiding by its rules. That's the conclusion of the expert group of the Department of Political Economy at the G.V. Plekhanov Russian Economic University. USA and the EU have grossly violated WTO rules by launching the "war of sanctions" against Russia.

WTO membership has cost Russia dearly. It weakened the country's economy on the eve of the second wave of crisis. WTO membership is especially harmful under the conditions of a "sanctions war." "It's pointless to attempt to have the US or other northern Eurozone members, who are the masters of that organization, excluded from it, but a refusal to abide by WTO rules is a timely and necessary step for our country," says the Political Economy Department Chair Ruslan Dzarasov. In his view, the US is placing impossible conditions on Russia to have the sanctions lifted, such as the withdrawal from Crimea, or the implementation of Minsk Agreements which are dependent only on Kiev and Washington. Therefore the Russian Federation is within its rights to propose that WTO members refuse to abide by the WTO rules in response by its violations by the US and the EU.

In spite of US encouragement, the EU held back from introducing new sanctions against Russia in February. Angela Merkel transitioned from threats aimed at Russia in February to calls to preserve the sanctiosn in March. However, German representatives and Brussels representatives are still looking to consolidate the EU opinion to adopt a new packet of sanctions against Russia, which the US is also seeking. The fact that sanctions contradict WTO principles is being ignored, which is something that Vladimir Putin addressed already in November 2014. Retaliatory sanctions by Russia had a limited character and did not place its membership in the WTO on the agenda. However, the likely escalation of the "war of sanctions" in the second half of 2015 may change the situation. Remaining in the WTO will become pointless even for its supporters within the Russian Federation.

J.Hawk's Comment: Dzarasov is correct in arguing WTO is harmful to Russia in the sense that its tariff regulations prevent Russia from rebuilding its manufacturing base. Being in the WTO makes sense if Russia is happy to limit itself to being a supplier of natural resources to the rest of the global economy. That would be the niche Russia would be limited to if it relied on the "invisible hand of the market", in keeping with the neoliberal economic dogma that is still dominant in the West and which has its adherents in Russia. However, the sanctions have had the paradoxical effect of weakening the neoliberal faction in Russia, and have accelerated the adoption of an import substitution strategy aimed at rejuvenating Russia's domestic manufacturing. Exiting the WTO would only be a logical step in this process. It would also be a major blow to any country or corporation which is counting on the Russian market, unless their manufacturing operations are actually located in Russia.

Russia seems lunatic fringe, whose representatives are respected not only in Finland visits. In Their mental imagery is possible to build a billion Russian mighty empire. When the Eurasian heartland of this set would be controlled, should be on the center of the world, which might be able to marginalize cultural decadence of Western civilization. Militarily, this kingdom would be invincible, a new thousand years of creation, which no one could even challenge.
In this dream there is no other fault than that it is senseless and not in any way realistic. Unfortunately, the truth is that even in the countries of the Russian collection is now the world during the Moscow impossible. Euromaidan all of the repulsive uhossaan is an indication of what is to be expected for all the imperialists, who want to subjugate the peoples without their consent. Before the world, such problems were treated with terror. Today, it is impossible to do.

Vihavainen: Venäjät pysyvät erillään

( This is a blog of a Finnish professor of history.)

Those who pull the similarity of the signs of Putin's and Hitler's or Stalin between Putin and are very superficial. I understand very well the use of these alignments stumbling, the purpose of which is to highlight the item ruthlessness and immorality. Such estimates have certain criteria and they should contemplate a balanced way. At the same time, it is also healthy to think about the other major powers such as the US practice.
Also, US presidents have been compared to Hitler, but the comparison is as lame as the Putininkin. Despite everything, Russia is not yet a terrorist state and a totalitarian. It is, above all, under current circumstances, a medium-sized state, which suffers from chronic problems of the economy, demography and political terms. It is a state with a large eastern neighbor and a number of unpleasant and hostile subjects in the Caucasus. Now, it also threatens to be left alone in the western world, where there do not want to drop it from civilized countries.
Once again, it all started with good purposes, and ended as usual. Putin's policy has led to his own goals in terms of disaster and the situation can be regarded as more pathetic than frightening. The latter development is of course a good opportunity to keep in mind. History does not have any math, where future development could be proven. Crimean crisis is a good example

There is always an alternate view. One person may take an economic view - for example human development index or economic output. Other person may take military power as an index. Third person may take strength of culture or like minded persons as an index. Different people believe in different parameters as their strength.

Nobody believes Russia to be a perfect nation. I have always said that Russia is a VIABLE POLITICAL ENTITY and a NATION. The western attempts to destroy the nation of Russia is a foolish attempt.

The problem for Finland is that Americans are very aggressive. The Americans will keep on pushing for "maximum Russian deaths" as is coming out from different mouthpieces. This will keep on escalating the conflict.

Obama is an isolationalist, he does not want to go to history otherwise. Ukraine is not Finland, they have 46 million people, they should be able to defend themselves. West will finance them through IMF.

Yes I do. Ukraine freedom fight 2015 is Finnish freedom fight 1918, then Germany helped Finland. Now US and EU help Ukraine.

Why do you call it "freedom fight". Ukraine was a free country before this fight, and it is not now!

Many Americans think that way. This is not because they have the slightest clue what or where Ukraine, but because their politicians tell them so. An ordinary American is too busy bothering about Kim Kardashian's posterior. He does not have time to remove his ignorance about things outside of America.

If the US government tells the truth to the Americans that it is supporting the Nazis, majority of Americans will no support it. The people of America has ZERO control over what the US government does as far as foreign policy is concerned, no matter how much American politicians bleat about "democracy." Even in WWII, most Americans did not want to be part of the war.

Today, most Americans think that Ukrainians need to be defended from Russia, when in reality, Ukrainians needs to be defended from the US, and its puppet Nazis and corrupt oligarchs.

Why do you call it "freedom fight". Ukraine was a free country before this fight, and it is not now!
Because he is being dystopian.

Rumour of Putin sick or dead: could be an intentional rumour to increase morale of Ukrainian troops.
Let us see how this translates to incidents on the battlefield.
