Yesterday in the Parliament there was a report of our Minister of Defense. In general terms, as I already said here: On the border and in the occupied Crimea, strike groups have not been created and the logistical leverage will then be very large. In total, near the borders (radius 20-200 km) - 130 thousand soldiers. This is only 4 thousand more than in the spring of 2021 (the situation seemed more dangerous to me then), but an additional + 300 tanks, because Russian generals take into account that we have a lot of ATGMs.

If there is no war this time, then I hope rearmament will speed up.

On Friday, another American transport aircraft arrived with weapons. 85 tons.
Neptune AShM is essentially the KH-35 missile right?

It's like the old Harpoon missiles that USN is now decommissioning.
Taken as a basis, but inside everything is different.
The Kh-35 was planned to be produced in Kharkov and there was part of the documentation, but the USSR collapsed and economic ties were destroyed. Therefore, it is very different from the original.

Now Lithuania is asking for more German troops to be based in their country, as there are now probably 20000 Russian troops in Belarus.
Until now, Western Europe did not have to bear the costs of NATO expansion to the east, or face the risk of the possibility of a military conflict with Russia killing tens of thousands of European soldiers.. What if the purpose of the huge russian buildup is to force NATO into a counter buildup, thereby imposing real costs on the peace loving risk averse western europe, and turning their population against the US-UK drive of NATO expansion, and thus cause Euro Atlantic Schism?

NATO was falling apart long time ago. They should've disbanded in 1990s. When push comes to shove no one will stand against Russia for Ukraine. It would be a self inflicted pain for them.

The Baltics are certainly not peace loving at this moment. They have vowed to provide US made anti-armor and anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine even when it is not a member of NATO.

Russia certainly will not take this lying down.

Russian system are good not great, for indian needs it's more than enough. Technology wise it's not a golden bird.
There is no such thing as 'wunderwaffen', it is always an optimum mix of strategy, training and system.
Russian system offers decent price/performance ratio and most importantly no end user agreement which US impose on its arm buyers.
Without Russian Sukhoi, we would have never achieved 272 fleet. The quantity we require is match by Russian system only until supplanted by Indian system (if ever we can pull this feat off)

TOS-1 had to be upgraded to TOS-2 because they were exposed to ATGM ranges. The amount of FOABs or TOS-2 systems used is nearly equivalent to setting off nukes but without the radiation effects. Their thermobaric explosives are not a joke to take lightly.

If it were not for the China factor India would easily be sanctioned by the US and that is bad for India no matter the jingoism from Soviet Indian orphans.
Sanctions is a double edged sword. It hurts both sides economically. Since US is a huge economy they can sustain effects of sanctions to a certain degree. Against large economies sanctions will also hurt them equally.

This is why US isn't sanctioning China no matter how much they threaten. Indian economy has grown a lot in last two decades. Not just in terms of GDP but Indian economy has been entangled with global supply chain more than ever. Sanctioning India will cause lot of problems for US corporations and US allies. So no, US can't easily sanction India. This is why US backtracked from sanctioning India after S400 deal.

How different ? Active-Passive Radar and maybe 300 Km range ? This is like the lower tier of the global AShM market like Exocet, RBS, Harpoon, KH 35, Otomat, C 802, etc.

Suits Russia.. The Baltics are very hard to defend..A real headache for US and western Europe. Russia will gain a lot more leverage from threatening invasion of Baltics, than occupying them.. They were Nazi allies during WW2, and hate Russia with a passion, like Angry Pomeranians.. Forcing NATO deployments in the Baltics, will create a lot of friction between Baltics and Western Europe. Maybe, a permanent deployment in Belarus, and putting pressure on Baltics, is what this buildup is about, apart from of course, deterring a Ukranian attack on separatist regions..

But these weapons will come in handy to deter a Russian amphibious attack.. or atleast cause more losses to Russia

Tactical characteristics are similar.
6 launchers in the battalion. 4 missiles each. A salvo of 24 missiles is capable of disrupting any attack from the sea.

How effective do you think these will be against Polimet Redut S 350 and Naval S 400 missile systems?

Its flight height is several tens of meters above the water, and when it approaches the target, it is 2-3 meters.
Missiles of this type are powerless. Such work for near-field missiles and anti-aircraft artillery
Of course, not all missiles will hit the target, but 40% of the losses of the attackers do not allow them to complete the combat mission.
