For now the assumption is germany's energy imports from russia seems to be a major underlying cause.
Merkel's decision to go non-nuclear energy production is forcing them to depend more on coal and natural gas for energy.

Factbox: How much does Germany need Russian gas?
Its more than actually.

Germany has been trying to free itself from the clutches of US for quite sometime now.

Infact after the recent elections one of the first promises made by the winning party was to create a European federation.

Germany is trying to manage both its energy needs and strategic needs by attempting to keep US out of what Germany deems as it's sphere of influence.

Yes, we discussed this angle as well, few pages back in this thread.

In one line--

russia is on way to make neo soviet :lehappy:

they had annexed crimea in march 2014 now they want to annex whole ukrain. Due to this the ukrain is prep for war and nato is sort of helping them :notsure:.
Only if you believe Western propaganda. In reality, Russia is not going to annex Ukraine.

It will soon be realised with the splitting of EU.
France, Germany will create their own version of EU, and they will allign with Russia. And for this US is itself responsible.

It's either a confused strategy or a transitioning strategy- because Germany going 'independent' of the US in its foreign policy without having an independent defence in place doesn't make sense. This will only alienate the Eastern Europe countries and increase the chances of NATO- Russia proxy war(propped up revolution, dictator and puppets) (Not that Germany gives two hoot about those nations)

After Biden's statement, it'd be really uncharacteristic of the Russian state to not engage in some "minor incursion", though.
I think Russia's any actions depends on its interests not Biden's statements ))
Maybe Biden wants Russia to engage in some "minor incursion" for "big problems" and US will get profits from that as they usually did? ;)

I think biden with his gaffe over "small incursions" has given a free pass to russia to do the same, with China conducting the second biggest incursion through air, it will be really funny if both china and russia decide to go for ukraine and taiwas simultaneously .

But minor incursions are in Russki interests.

You're overestimating USA's current administration's shrewdness.
They're lead by a bumbling fool who can't find his own ass with his own two hands (and a GPS system to guide them). It was no PsyOp to raise the point about minor incursions. It was pure stupidity from a senile old fella who sniffs kids in public.

This might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
This uneasy peace that has existed for so long after WW2 might just come down crashing.
If America puts troops in Eastern Europe and shifts it's focus from the Pacific (which never really materialized beyond mere words for the most part anyways), China will go after Taiwan. Consequently, we'll be going after our backyard bitch. Houthis are already on the cusp of overrunning S.A, not just Yemen, thus the Iran angle too.
Turks will start lighting the evergreen powder keg that is the Middle East as well.

Gentlemen, I ask you.
Wollt ihr den totalen krieg?
