Chinese medical colleges woo Kashmiris

Universities based in China and Central Asia are easy on the purse
Oblivious to the tensions that recently marked India-China relations, Chinese medical universities have been splurging on advertisements in Kashmiri newspapers, promising “affordable” MBBS courses to students from the State.

Fatima Jan, a counsellor with the Srinagar-based Fayaz International Counselling Centre, told The Hindu that around 90 China-based and state-run medical universities were currently taking students from Kashmir for courses taught in English. “We have admitted four Valley-based students for a five-year MBBS course with Hebei Medical University. It’s a government-run university, and the course fee is only ₹11 lakh,” Ms. Jan said.

Hebei Medical University is in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province in northern China.

This year, following an advertising blitz, half a dozen placement agencies in Srinagar have received over 200 queries on admission to MBBS courses in China. Similar queries at these centres were less than 20 last year.

Traditionally, Bangladesh has been the preferred destination for aspirants from the Valley.

“Chinese universities offer you training in the latest technology. It, therefore, becomes easier to move to the U.K. or the U.S. after the course. The admission process is on right now and we expect more students,” Ms. Jan said. Shazia Nazeer, an aspirant from Baramulla, said the MBBS courses in China and Central Asia were preferred because they cost half of what they would in countries like Bangladesh and Nepal, where the fee is ₹20 lakh-₹25 lakh. Besides, they are closer home than a college in the West.

Peer G.N. Suhail, who completed his master’s and Ph.D in International Studies from Tsinghua University, Beijing, said the Chinese government was offering over 15,000 scholarships to foreign students.

This year, counsellors are also offering MBBS seats in countries such as Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan.

Knowing how fekus these Chinks are, most of these Chinese univs are fake. Their certificates are fake too! Lol!

Don't believe me? Ok, read on.....

In a joint effort with Chinese search engine Baidu, tertiary education resource website sdaxue.com published “The Fifth Installment of Chinese University Network False Alerts University List,” revealing a list of fake diploma mills from across China. The website has been regularly publishing lists of fake schools since 2013. This year, an additional 73 organizations have been identified as fraudulent tertiary college education institutions in China, bringing the total number of fake colleges to 401.

This probably has two purposes. The first is obviously to make money for their universities. But the second purpose is to indoctrinate and recruit them once they are in China. Thousands of Kashmiris living in China could be converted to intelligence assets, provocateurs, etc, especially with Pakistanis who might openly mingle with them there. They can also act as money transferring routes, whenever they come back to Kashmir for Holiday, they can bring money back with them, which they can then distribute to the intended terrorist network. This bypasses the black money clampdown that we're attempting.

Native informers. Similar to what Indian expats do once they are in the Europe/U.K, give legitimacy to propaganda against their home countries.

China is following European guide to imperialism like a handbook.

We are a poor country that emphasised social-equality and supposed goodwill over economic prosperity and hard-power as our national goal.

We are not even in the game.

This is why we need to be good in the perception battle and in the narrative battle.

tell me what is the meaning of india .

Are indians in control of our own country and narrative.or will we be like america in 100 years where the country becomes merely a job mrket for foreigners who feign being indian and if india suffers economically will flee to another country.

the advantage we have is that due to our large population we will not be displaced easily like those european countries.

However the thing that bothers me so much is how we could not make our narative into'India the emerging superpower who takes shit from nobody' by learning from our history.china was able to go from oppressed country that got beat up to'the country that is going to be rich, powerful and in control of their own narrative in the form of chinese autocracy'.while we are stuck with british democracy that limits ur country as a civilization because technically anyone can be indian and we cant develop a sense of belonging.

we could have made our narrative from the 80 million hindus killed by muslims to we will have india for hindus only but now we have to appease to muslims.

we criticize china but china has its own narrative(we dont need western democracy,we dont need western secularism).im just thinking we got this narrative after invaders killed a lot, atleast the whites have guilt because of hitler and colonialism. But we didnt invade any body and still we do this.im thinking what we would have done if we were adventorous.

I think we've recently come to our senses and stepped into the game. Our dealings with Vietnam and Japan are an indication that we're building up our assets in that region and can cooperate with them to put pressure on China. What we are doing in Afghanistan is very smart. Though we don't use much hard power there, except maybe a few specops raids (who knows), our aid and developmental assistance has gained universal praise in that country, which pakistan even with its massive terrorist influence there cannot achieve. The Afghan government is downright pro India and anti pakistan as a result.

As far as economy is concerned, economic growth is the first priority of the country at the moment, even more than national security or law and order or anything else. Though we still need to make more reforms to achieve 10 percent plus growth, we're on the right track, and pretty much the only major economy in the world that is growing at a meaningful pace. I don't for a second believe China's official GDP growth figures of 6.5%, and neither does any serious economist.

But yes, we need to get more aggressive, and need to stop simply reacting to what other countries do to us, rather we should start hatching plans of our own to further our national interest.

Believe me,my dad himself sent three of my junior schoolmates to china for medical studies for some petty amount of monies (read Comission),and he was sincerely thinking of becoming an agent and so things.

It was only due to protest of other family members that he had to stop,otherwise...:tsk:
