Some countries want to design and produce advanced fighter by themselves, but they don't have whole R&D system, such as Turkey, Brazil, Indonesia, Egypt, Iran etc, Shenyang and Pakistan air-force could found a group like the JSF project and invite them to join in, it really is a big potential market. Two engines fighter is expensive, but has more capabilities than single engine.
The only problem is Russia, J16 may destroy Russia's export of military industry, it will irritate the Russian.

Brazil has an excellent Aerospace Industry (Embraer comes after Boeing and Airbus), its just that they're into civilian tech (not military). Probably because they don't face threats

J16 probably exists. Shenyang aircraft is still the No.1 fighter jet manufacturer in China, it would be stupid to think that they will be toying around forever with J8 and Su27/J11. Also China like Russia in the past does not really have a rigorous internal bidding process, thus all the talk about Chengdu being the winner/Shenyang being the loser is just pure speculation.

Su27 series has a very capable airframe, and it has also proven to have a lot of potential for modifications. Thus it is reasonable to assume that a steathized version in the same mold as F15SE may not only be feasible but also attractive and within financial and technical constraints facing Shenyang Air Corp.

Pseudo 5th generation avionics, including a AESA radar that lost the bidding on J-20,is also worthy of attention。

the problem of Brazil aerospace industry is that Brazil has no complete aerospace industry chain.

aerospace industry chains has many sections, but what Brazil has is just some of them ,such as integeration and designing..

However, brazil has no capacity to design and manufacture engines and avionics...
When civilian aircraft is concern,Embraer can import engines and avionic simply from west countries.
But when military aircraft ic concerned, brazil can do nothing, due to tech block.

Brazil was held back because of sanctions in the past iirc. Embraer as you have pointed out is one of the most successful aircraft manufacturing firm.

it is a commerially successful, not technically successful... what it is good at is the integration of components all over the world.

Brazil itself can not provide proper engine ,avionics and other core components for Embraer.

Lots of misinformation regarding the J-16 in this thread。

SF is working on its own 5th gen fighter which is supposed to be unveiled in the next couple of months。

Even Comac-919 uses Composites from Cytec ... engine from GE/Snecma ... avionics from Rockwell ...

Now do I hear the thundering herd barking "copycat" ?
Actually I am disappointed. All that hoopla about a 2nd 5th gen project and they show us a duck, an old one at that.

This is quite the same as the Super Sukhoi in class, don't know how the specs of either stacks up so we need to wait anyway.

I am assuming there is obviously no internal weapons bay. So, it looks like it may only be an upgrade to all the J-11Bs until the real 5th gen Air superiority aircraft is revealed to us.
