Do not chase China in numbers of Aircraft carriers. These cannot come to Indian Ocean in an offensive mode. If these do appear, then these will not go back in one piece. The fighters on these A/C are worst copy of Russian design.
There is a complete squadron of Brahmos-ER waiting at A&N to welcome it through the Malacca Straits.

The newest Aircraft Carrier which the Indian Navy will be getting is the INS Vikrant. Here I will post some basic Specifications of INS Vikrant.

INS Vikrant has a fully loaded displacement of 45,000 tons, a length of 262 m (860 ft), beam of 62 m (203 ft), a height of 59 m (194 ft), a draught of 8.4 m (28 ft), a Depth of 25.6 m (84 ft).

Now let's come to the Type 003, we have limited Specifications about this AC's dimensions but still whatever I can find I will post here for you, Type-003 will have a displacement of 85,000–100,000 tons, a length of 300 m (984 ft) and a beam of 40 m (131 ft).

So you can see that in terms of size and displacement, the Type-003 dwarfs INS Vikrant, Type-003 will have more Aircraft carrying capacity than that of Vikrant. This AC is superior to any AC currently in service with Indian Navy.

Super Flanker, thanks for your kind reply and sharing so much information. Here I just add some info I got from chinese website: waterline width 39.5m, deck max width 76m, deck length 325m.

Could you share the link of the website?

Wikipedia data and Data posted by you from a Chinese website is Different, I think so that I will have to measure the distance myself on Google Earth.

Where is Type-003 being constructed at? Name the Shipyard, let's see if I can draw out a measurement from Google Earth. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for providing the Co-ordinates, and I have looked through Google Earth and did find the Type-003 under construction at Jiangnan Shipyard, when I measured the length of the deck than I got it as 310-320 meters. Ofcource this is not 100% accurate. We will know more after it is launched.

That's great to have first hand data, fully reliable.
The google earth doesn't update this site frequently, the current satellite photo may be taken 4, 5 months ago.

Thanks for correcting my knowledge but there is plans to use nuclear propulsion for all Chinese AC
As of now, Only France and US have nuclear Powered aircraft carriers in their navies.

But China is planning to Construct an aircraft carrier known as Type-004 which will be nuclear Powered. I think so that after US and France, China will be the 3rd country to build nuclear powered aircraft carriers.

I don't follow much about this whole matter of "3rd AC" for Indian Navy but such reports always come in the media, sometimes reports say that 3rd AC is being given more Importance over 6 SSNs and sometimes there are reports which say that 6 SSNs are being given more importantance over 3rd AC, so always media is like that itself.

Best is to ignore such reports. I would say from my point of view that both 3rd AC and 6 SSNs are important.

But due to inflation won't be possible to get them but for me subs do make more sense they can get you surprise element and can defeat bigger enemy too AC is a sitting duck yes and with them you need to get entire battleground of ships to safe guard carrier 2 destroyers 3 frigates 2 submarines

Let's suppose you buying AC worth 7 billion extra 4 billion for deck aircraft than 6 billion to set battle group is costly luxury you want to have

Which inflation are you talking about?

I think so that you are talking with regards to whether Indian Navy has the budget to afford these or not ,well ofcource we have, but AFAIK Indian Navy doesn't have the budget to afford both SSNs as well as a 3rd Aircraft carrier at the same time. We can either buy 4-6 SSNs at one time or we can purchase a 3rd AC at one time.

And tell me how can a submarine defeat an aircraft carrier? An aircraft carrier will never be alone, it will always have an escort of Destroyers/Frigates/Cruisers etc. Also aircraft carriers do have their own Weopons which they can use to defend themselves from any Hostile threat.
