China mulling setting up learning centre in Chennai

Chennai (PTI): With the number of Chinese students seeking IT education in Tamil Nadu and the interest among the local people to know more about China increasing, Beijing is mulling to set up a Chinese learning centre here.

Chinese Ambassador to India Zheng Yan on Saturday said, "The centre is likely to come up in Chennai."

Mr. Zheng told reporters here after paying a courtesy call on Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy that the economic relations between India and China were fast expanding and expressed his country's desire to invest in Tamil Nadu.

Hailing the industrial environment in Chennai, Mr. Zheng said Chinese businessmen and industrialists could head to Tamil Nadu to set up units.

Bilateral trade had touched USD 52 billion last year, growing by 34 per cent from the previous fiscal, he said.

Describing Swamy as a "great friend", of the Communist nation, Mr. Zheng said his country "will not forget him".

After his meeting with Mr. Zheng, Mr. Swamy told PTI that besides wanting to know about the favourable areas of business investment, the Chinese Ambassador also discussed "international matters of mutual interest" with him.

It can be unofficially reffered to by different names such as... Spy Agency.... Disinformation Center... Cultural Warfare Center....

But, it would be inappropriate to call them all that officially, so they settled for the name "Chinese Learning Center"...

The chinese are good with technology, but what makes them 2nd to India in IT is their Lack of English skills, The Chinese find it hard to master english, while we Indians got a knack for it. Their "Learning Centers" Will probably be used to understand whats it that makes us good in IT.

Is it a IT education institute or a language/culture institute?

This was a confusing little news report.

India will not profit anything from this cultural centre. Will be good for commies though. Should always be careful with Chinese mainly the CCP.
