China May Deliver 300 of Type 99 Main Battle Tank to Pakistan

According to reports, china may deliver a total of 300 of Type 99 Main Battle Tank to Pakistan. Pakistan is already testing the Type 99 Main Battle Tank given the unsatisfactory performance of the VT-4 and Oplot-M. VT-4 is the export variant of the MBT-3000, while the Oplot-M is a Ukranian Tank. Pakistan is looking to upgrade its inventory of tanks in order to satisfy the needs of the armed forces from 2017 to 2025. After the successful testing of Type 99 Main Battle Tank, it will be decided which tanks will to acquire.

Defense experts have welcomed this new development with open arms. The Type 99 Main Battle Tank would serve as a cheap and ideal replacement for Pakistan Army’s fleets of T80UD, Al-Zarrar, Type 85, Type 69, and Type 59 MBTs. The fleets under Pakistan Army as of right now are quite old and can’t possibly create with a modern line of tanks in huge numbers. Type 99 Main Battle Tank was fielded by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. It is a third-generation tank and a Chinese variant of the Russia T-72 MBT. Type 99 Main Battle Tank incorporates the autoloader, hull, the main gun and armor from the T-72 Russian MBT. If the deal between Pakistan and China on this front goes through, the Type 99 Main Battle Tank should also serve as an ideal opponent to the Indian T-90MS.

Pakistan is doing exceptionally well at the moment in carving out important deals on two crucial fronts; infrastructure and defense. China has been a great benefactor of Pakistan and hopefully will remain so in the years to come. With China having invested billions of dollar in Pakistan, even more so recently in the form of China-Pak Economic Corridor, more such deals, even powerful, could come through in the future. As for the infrastructure, the government is bringing in foreign investments not short of billions of dollars to finance power generation projects in Pakistan. With Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Pakistan is at a constant battle with terrorists and quite successfully. If things keep heading the way they are, Pakistan has a bright future ahead.

the Laws of economics ? surprisingly, those are not so well known , especially not to packlanders

..the first law of econs is a very simple one , indeed so simple that it's often forgotten .... no, it's not supply and demand , and it isn't any of that fancy maths in
micro economics either .....

....it's just that , " there's no such thing as a free lunch" !!!!!

but they are no fool , so we might not see the first few chapters until much later .

you see, the deal is that china is going to give pakistan so much free stuff and good stuff too, that pak will NOT be able to pay for it , and end up owing a great debt .....and then one day , china will ASK , or perhaps DEMAND for something BIG , and poor old packland cant say "NO !" , if fact they wont even be able to say " please ? ..... no ? "

Chinese - Pakistani Nexus in Indian Ocean on the Defensive.


Pakistanis need a free donor and they have found it in China once again. From 1954 till 2014, they had a free donor in US. They exploited Afghanistan issue first with Russians and then with the Americans for sixty years. Now China is their main donor. They will exploit china until they conclude that they have been duped. The forgoing is going to happen sooner than the former. Chinese do not give anything free very much unlike American who were gifting them aid and hardware free.

Now let us see what China want?

They want to be in the Indian Ocean because south and north China sea are overcrowded and are hostile to Chinese designs. They assumed that from 2004 to 2014, India under Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh is a pussy cat. They can dominate the Indian Ocean via Pakistan. That is to be done both via sea at the port of Gawadar and via road over the Khujerab Pass to again Gawadar. This port city was to become Chinese city. The Pakistanis did not mind as long as the Chinese stay hostile to India.

Well, the Manmohan Singh era ended in a disgrace and the new Prime Minister Modi has taken bull by the horn. He decided to full steam ahead with the Americans. The US - India relations are blossoming. It's first impact is a lot more FDI will pour into India. It's economy will grow roughly at the same rate as China economy grew from 1994 to 2013. Mind it, Indian economy is not export oriented for consumer goods, it is going to be industrial powerhouse. The second impact is military co-operation in the Indian Ocean.

Ever since, Chinese became aggressive in the South and north China sea in last ten years, US has been looking for a partner to prevent China aggressive posture in Indian Ocean in collaboration with Pakistan. They evaluated, the Australians who are a very small nation, Japanese have a passive constitution and are heavily dependent for US protection, hence the choice fell on India. Concurrently an aggressive Modi came to power in India, which fitted well with American view point. Hence with meeting of mind was all too inclusive - US builds India as an industrial powerhouse and gets full Indian cooperation in the India Ocean. The first shot came in form of Malabar Naval Excercise in October of 2015. US, Japanese, Australian and bulk of Indian navy held a joint excercise with in the full view of the Chinese. They got the message, they hated this cooperation but could do nothing. These exercises would continue every year, much to the displeasure of China and by default Pakistan.

This is what happens when somebody becomes too aggressive. Chinese have been aiding Pakistan to keep India busy and in the meantime they move into the Indian Ocean. But the ball game reversed, it is Chinese and Pakistani nexus which has been put into a defensive mode.

Now Chinese can build as many as possible, submarines in Karachi for free. They are no match to the current and upcoming scenario unfolding. The Chinese - Pakistani naval axis had not imagined that a new scenario unfolding will bypass them completely. In the meantime a heavy dose of FDI to India is unfolding. That will make India into an industrial power not just consumer goods manufacturing power.

First their is no donation here we are buying 300 T-99 A2 Tanks. Secondly it would be called AL HAIDER and some massive changes would be done to make it even more lethal @Blackwater

We have to shift our focus back on Arjun MBT. I feel T-90 is inadequate against MBT-99.

While I like the way Pakistan has a single minded doggedness to acquire Chinese technology, I still think that for the Pakistanis creating a better al Khalid would be a more prudent step to take.
This will primarily replace the al zarrar type ,which for all purposes is already obsolete.
That said it should provide much needed impetus in inducting at least five hundred more improved Arjuns and more artillery. That said once the LCH is here in numbers combined with HELINA all OPFOR tanks in the subcontinent are toast.
