china also has occupied tibet and other land area,
even usa gained or looted land from natives and then mexico,
england occupied northern ireland,
australia too,its occupied land,
and whose gonna occupy antartica,

while india lost its land to religion of peace,
its kind of nice that now there is a buffer land called paki country between those trash bs afghani and other troubles,

but at-least india should have took back the land which was lost to east paki when there was chance in war with east paki,
also at that time significant numbers of hindu population were present in east paki,
but instead that congressi choose just to change the name of that country from east paki to bangladeshi,

now people are blaming modi for giving some land to bangladeshi in resolving border dispute,
modi had to do something,

well in both india gonna remain at 7 place but its not about rank in land area.

CHina ceded outer Manchuria to Russia(during 1858-1860),which is as large as 3 Frances.

CHina lost outer Mongolia during 1913-1946,which is as large as 3 France

China ceded 1/4 of Xinjiang to Russia during 1860 or so, which is as large as France.

the above totals as large as 7 Frances and larger than India today.

Most of it is inhabitable, just large stretches of outback, home to most venomous snakes in the world and Kangaroos.

India also lost lot of france in 1947:biggrin2:

Looks like an incorrect map.India and Tibet were not part of the same tectonic plate.

Anyway, @Adioz Why should we be scared of our population? If anything we have more arable land than China and can support a much bigger population than China ever can. So why should we reduce our population?

@Adioz Its Pangea and europe is between greenland africa and russia.
Can understand why you couldn't find Europe, in Mercator map which is used a lot today, Europe is shown huge while in reality its quite small.

@Mad Indian Most diagrams suggests what you said, i think maybe the Indian tibet part was flat then and today it formed the himalayas, those large areas folded into huge mountain and some buried under the Eurasian plate.

1.modern agriculture is in fact an industry.it needs tech support from many sectors of Industry.
such as Fertilizers, thin film, water pumps, tractors, combine harvesters..etc.

2.if conventional agriculture is upgraded to modern one, its productivity can be promoted much.
for example,
China's arable land decreased much since 1950s,but its total food inceases almost 500%.
Rice harvest/acre in China is almost 300% of that in India.

Exactly why we have Himalayas between India and Tibet and not Tibet and China. Guess the Tibetians would have loved it , had it been the other way round.

Guilty as charged....wait, no.
I never suggested we reduce our population. I know how that can bite you on the butt(as your peak workforce ends up aging and you have a workforce crisis 25 years down the lane).
I just posted the comment in a light tone. There was no implied meaning to it.

Your modern agricultural practices are degrading what little arable land you have. You can not expect the land to give such output continuously for long. Fertilizers are only causing harm to the environment and increasing chemical concentration in your diet. This can lead to biological magnification in aquatic life, as they are being polluted as well.

Case is that west countries have kept their modernagriculture run for decades and there are less pollutions there than india.

Dude, wth? So what if modern agricultural practices help Chinese agriculture. Wtf does that have to do with the fact that India has more arable land or the fact that India can indeed support more population than China. You think India can't adopt modern practices to agriculture? Seriously how did you come up with that nonsensical post. I will repeat again, India has more useful(arable) land than China and hence will always be in a place to provide for more population than China (whether we can fulfill the potential or not is another question entirely). That's life. Deal with it.

@Adioz yep, you pretty much summed up the point I was going to make. But reg environment, it is over rated. There is no difference in consuming "organic" food vs food grown by fertilizers and such. Most of the environmental nonsense is peddled by environmentalist morons who value ant life destroyed by fertilizers more than the human life saved by the fertilizers.

Mongols are not Chinese. Tibetans are also not Chinese. Uighurs are also not Chinese. China is much smaller than PRC.

Take a look at this:
Before you say that all of this is B.S., remember that there is no smoke without fire.
I am not trying to say that Indian agricultural practices are the best. I know saying that would sound ridiculous. Its just that the Chinese model is not so perfect either. The main reason is lack of enough arable land.
P.S.: No comments on the corruption part of the video please.
