China has criticized India for not inviting it to the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium and has also told that India is worried about it's growing economy saying that Indias ego is hurt from the Chinese march in the last few decades and that it has left behind Asias first Industrial country.
It has also said that India is weary of China's relation with Pakistan though it was not against India and India has nothing to fear from it.

Barring economic development is a different matter and barring strategic reach is something different.

ADB loan doesn't effects the string of pearls or the tibet issue, even India wont bar such a loan to its immediate opponent if it is solely used for development purpose.

Disputes are no reason for stopping a loan.

China is behaving like a jilted lover.

Pusillanimous and unbecoming of a nation with pretensions to great power!

And, for God's sake, it was a LOAN... we were going to pay it back with Interest anyway...

Certainly not like others who want freebies doled out to them...

Anyways, it was a good move... a perfect diplomatic tit-for-tat over the ADB Loan stoppage issue... I hope China learns from this that it will be a policy of "give respect, take respect" from now on....

This and a few other similar incidents should take place to cut China down to size a little bit... he ought to be told in no unclear diplomatic terms that if he messes with us, we have the might to screw him if we want to...

By the way, don't MOST OF HIS his oil supplies go through the Indian Ocean ??? Maybe he ought to have that in mind... In case of a war, he will have that additional problem to deal with...

I think this is the best thing India has done so far, China is trying its level best to get access into Indian Ocean, despite the fact that it does not connected to Indian ocean or it has true blue water capabilities.........Recent steps by china to send its ships close to Indian comfort zone has not gone down well with IN or its defence ministary, more so the Chines help in development of Paksitani port and spying activities in Coco and support to Srilankan and Bangladesh, has cause concern in South block, therefore it is but nautural that India has given cold sholder to China on the Navel symposium.........

But, this shows the partial failure of his string of pearls theory... because, none of the "pearls" which he has cultivated around us has any credible naval force to threaten us... so, he realises that he has to do the job himself... and now, the MEA gives him a cold shoulder...

not only does it's oil, but also it's container ships carrying all it's manufactured goods. That's why it has been modernizing it's navy and trying to expand it's presence in the IOR.
It has to protect the Mallacas and counter Indian and US presence there. It is also the reason why it viewed the joint naval excercises between India,US,Aus,Japan with suspicion. It feels an alliance may be brewing which will choke it's life line running from the Mallacas

PLN has no business in Indian Ocean just as IN don't have any in South China ocean. Just be in your limits otherwise PLN will be shown its place in Indian ocean.

China wants to be a superpower. So it will do what it has to. It has the economic might. It's borrowing and stealing technology in the military sector to create a more powerful force to challenge the only super power right now
