Once the Giga factory in Berlin starts operating at full capacity this will reduce drastically. CATL themselves wanted to build a battery factory in Germany. I don't have much updates on that. I am guessing Europeans wanted to build their own battery supply chain once EV adoption picks up. Right now European car companies are struggling to get battery raw materials. Bosch had plans to build a battery factory but backed off as they couldn't compete on cost compared to Asian battery companies in China and Korea. They were betting on Lithium mining in Serbia however Serbian people were against it.
It will take some time for Europe to decouple from China. China remains an important market for EU.

As for China, they just throw money and buy the company.

Lenovo has achieved absolutely nothing in terms of innovation in the PC market other than dishing out cheap, unreliable laptops and hardware after buying out IBM's PC business.

Dell remains light years ahead of the Chinese owned pack of tofu.

Nop, Tesla China exported 160,000 during 2021, 55% of EV export.

And 90% of supplier are Chinese companies.

But if you count by May 2021 - May 2022, the share of Tesla is decreasing fast. Chinese local brand is suffering shortage of chips and batteries, even couldn't fullfill local market.

BYD still have 500,000 orders need to delivery

The true monster will be BYD, they have vetical integrated supply chain from IGBT, battery to autopilot system, quite like Sumsung in Mobile field.

It's blade battery will be supplier to Tesla quit soon.

BYD itself sold 0.6 million EV cars last year, with average $35,000, now they still have 600,000 orders need to delivery.

Trade is bi-direction, if China remains an important market for EU, so dose EU to China, it's contradictory with your claim "decouple"

This happened after 2008, now it's already Version2.0, there are much more cooperation than buy and sell.

Both companies are last centrury enterprise, neither of them are cool any more. If you read Chinese SNS, Lenovo didn't earn any respect even in China, we thought its screw and driver company with low tech contribution. We respect companies like Huawei, DJI, BYD, Mi type companies, even the Alibaba and Tencent are not popular anymore, we thought Alibaba is a makertplace operator and Tencent just world's biggest gaming company...

BTW, your konwledge base seems quite old ...

Yes, but why you give youself a chance to show your knowledge is out dated:

Wait, whats Dacia Spring based on? Ah, Renault K-ZE.
Who owns Dacia? Wait a minute.... Renault group.

Do you know why Geely buy Renault Korea's 30% share? Because Geely wants to export EV tech through this brand!

The new products will utilize Geely Holding Group’s world-class Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), developed by Geely Holding Group’s R&D center in Sweden, as well as taking advantage of the Geely Holding Group’s advanced hybrid powertrain technologies.

Now lets come to Polestar. Volvo? Ring a bell? Wait... Polestar was owned by Volvo which later got acquired by Geely.

Same story with MG.
Geely bought 100% share of Volvo Car in 2011, there was no EV thing.
MG brand sold to China around same time, no EV supply chain then.

Where's BYD in that list? Right there.. son.
This is where BYD is:

BYD offer the EV solution to jV brand with Benz.

So basically Chinese small banks are going bankrupt.
According to Elmer this is happening cause local govts basically stole from small local banks ..
There are some small protests even.
They are FUBAR.

Their external debt will breach 75% of their GDP.

Their real estate giants are all but bankrupt.

Most real estate linked bonds are worse than toilet paper.

Waiting for a 50 center to come and post some totally irrelevant garbage as a counter or try to do an equal-equal with India.

If China starts printing Yuan at the same click as US Fed, expect global markets to go into meltdown.

In this game of bluff, the one holding his cards wins.

Wait .. are you sure ? I know the dude divebombed his aircraft but I had no idea it was cause of evergrande.
Its hearsay. Copies of his suicide note were found circulating in WeChat.. till CCP scrubbed it. Nobody knows for sure whether the suicide note was fake or real but it was scrubbed.

There is a lot of resentment against the authoritarian communist regime but people are afraid to speak openly or even in private.

There is a rather tragic story (barely a week old) but can't share it coz the poor Chinese dude will land in serious shit.

Idle rumors are of no value

It is common for pilots to have personal problems that lead to plane crashes

People living in China are no more miserable than indians

That is not something you want to say lightly. You don't want a unhappy and disgruntled pilot behind the stick in a civilian airline. There was a similar crash of German airwings flight few years ago. The Pilot had some health problems who was supposed to go blind as he aged. The doctors already had declared he was unfit to be a Pilot before the crash. Unfortunately it is something investigators found in his apartment after the fatal crash. He had suicidal tendencies even before the training and that led to him being denied US Pilot license. He somehow slipped through the system in Germany/Europe leading to the death of many innocent civilians and the crew.

"China is the largest end market for semiconductors with more than half of the world’s total chip output going to China. Given the unprecedented capacity investment and expansion of domestic chip manufacturers, China is currently also the fastest growing semiconductor manufacturing market worldwide," Merck China President Allan Gabor said in a statement. "We believe a golden era for China’s semiconductor industry has just begun."
