I understand the mindset of Indian policy maker that need to try best to reserve the car market for its own brands.

I perosnally think there will be more supply chain cooperation between India and China on EV area, but less direct brand export to India. Tata, Mahindra already had silent cooeprations with Chinese supply chains.

The Vinfast is going to setup factory in India, afaik it's a 90% chinese supply chain company just powered by Vietnam captial, i saw lots of its testing cars in its Chinese partners here.

Actually, if a single type of EV couldn't reach 100,000 sales per year, you can't support a EV platform to upgarde, if you consdering India's whole EV market is around 60,000 per yr, the road is little tough for India car makers for mastering the whole supply chain.
Let's start from the bottom. So as per wumao number 1 here , India's EV market is 60,000 per year . Here you go :

https://evreporter.com/indias-electric-vehicle-sales-trend-january-2024/#:~:text=Category wise-Sales Trend from Jan 2023 to Jan 2024,-15,72,383 EVs

Total EV sales in India is 1.5 million vehicles .

With 3.7 million units sold globally in 3Q 2023, electric vehicles made up 18% of total passenger vehicle sales in the world. BloombergNEF expects global EV sales to reach 14 million in 2023 and 16.7 million in 2024.

.

Global sales for EVs stands at 14 million in the year 2023. Hence India's share in the EV market stands at roughly 10%

Vinfast & Tata Technology collaboration .

We are very proud of our association with VinFast and the Vin Group. We have had the opportunity to partner with them in the last couple of years to develop two of the electric vehicles that they are launching and delivering to customers, not just in Vietnam but in different parts of the world.

Frankly this entire Vinfast set up smells like a scam , the kind of scam Hans are known to plan & execute. That's what many members out here think too .

The only advantage China enjoys over the others is first mover advantage & scale. Other than that there's nothing innovative about Chinese EVs or their OEMs like in practically all other fields China's present in .

As far as India not allowing access to Chinese EV OEMs it's due yo various factors including the current state of affairs but mainly due to lack of equal access to Indian products in the Chinese markets which the GoI has been protesting against to CCP for years to no avail.

The Galwan crisis finally ensured the GoI acts decisively & restrict Chinese entry into a number of sectors including EVs.

It's quite obvious the quality of data MSS is feeding you is sub par. You ought to take up the matter with your MSS handler. The person generating such feed seems like a Gaokao fail like you guys & deserves to be sacked. Then again he / she may be closely associated with a CCP functionary . We don't want you to suddenly disappear now do we.

Why ? For you Hanimals , does electricity driven 2 & 3 wheelers not count as EVs ?🙂

What do you see it as ? Go Karts ? Probably because you don't have a developed 2 or 3 wheeler market.

Well I like that more and more EV 2, 3 wheelers are getting sold. This one place in India, i would like electrify fast. Electrifying Personal Cars can go slow ..till we have more sources and types of technology

There is big difference in supporting an EV industry where you sell 1.5M two-/3-wheelers as opposed to electric cars :)

Yes, China has a huge electric bike industry. It pretty much owns the eco-system there -- I think most of the parts that go into your E-2/3 wheelers come from China. The parts there are completely difference from those going into cars :)

Electric two-wheelers constitute a 8 million vehicle market in China ;)

I think I've told you before - we prefer doing things at our own pace. CCP is going full steam ahead with EVs is coz CCP sponsored EV OEMs have identified & developed the tech including taking over captive lithium & other rare earth mines across the world besides having the spare electricity generation capacities to power these automobiles thanks to years of splurging on infrastructure particularly coal based thermal plants . 🙂

For the rest of the world , it's about developing these capacities which they will in collaboration with each other excluding China. Just like what's happened in the SMC sector where Huawei got blackballed & China got cut off from the SMC mainstream. What did you do in terms of retaliation to the US or Netherlands or UK or Japan or RoK ? Nothing , nada , zilch.😉

It's this very same coalition which is responsible for SMC fabs being set up in Japan , US , Germany & India away from Taiwan & China. Likewise this same coalition will stymie Chinese EVs the world over unless you ruin your reputation by having a good number of such automobiles combust earlier.😉

In any case out of the 1.5 million EVs sold , 1 lakh of them were passenger cars. Our target by 2030 is to see a migration of at least 75% of our 2 & 3 wheelers to EVs with 25% of passenger cars & commercial vehicles migrating to EVs in the same time period by which time we'd have built up capacities to generate that kind of electricity thru renewable resources not coal like the Chinese further polluting the environment .🙂

How is communist culture BTW 🙂Great leap forward, tianmen square, and many many more.
It is pretty much dead and gone. There is no way an actual communist nation could be the largest economy and trading nation in the world like China is today -- when China was communist, it was poorer than India :)

That is because Communists do not believe in trade, travel or free enterprise. Chinese do ;)

China has an independent semicon supply and process chain and is already at 7nm with 5nm soon -- US and Europe cannot make 5nm except by contracting on fabs in Taiwan ;)

IMG_2206.jpeg

Where is Indian 7nm or 28nm or even 65nm commercial fab? You have access to ASML and all the tech from your "friends" :)

To be honest, this industry has no place for countries outside the West and East Asia. And the West except for Intel (7nm) is behind China in fabrication.

IMG_2205.jpeg

And when all the Chinese capacity are built out in a few years, that path for anyone else to enter even the lower end of market will be almost impossible. China will make all chips at economy of scale unmatched anywhere.

This kid will not stop show off of just growing on the begged money of west & slave labour...
That all came from West it will soon be gone usa already started decoupling & china is no more largest trading partner of USA...
Whatever you are today is because of west you're CCP did nothing rather than following terms & condition of west.

India is gonna invest in its first semiconductor plant soon...
Congratulations for having such tech afterall steal, borrow, begg. Not to mention xi's words 'get it by assymtrial means'

90nm? Or 130nm? Either would be a great start for India :)

Since the trade war started in 2018 :D

I don't see those days are gone so many politicians died of heart attack 🤣🤣
And who brought tanks to protect banks last year when people were protesting.. no wonder that bank was investor in real estate..
China's japanification has already began.
It's indias time to rise now.
India grew by 8.1 ,8.2, 8.4% in 3 quarters of fy.
You enjoyed alot of growth with there money.

This is growth of indians hardwork not some begged money from west which they could take out later.
China is no more is net receiver of fdi.
More money goes out..
Whenever anybody finds lithium mines. Chinese ev battery manufactures stock price falls. This trend has been observed when we found Li in kashmir..
What will you do of this over capacity? Americans are investing billion in indigeneous same Is indias case.
Right now china might be selling to all World.
But by the time ev will become standard no one will relly On you. Including India who holds some of the largest reserves of li now..

I said you're growth is begged from west and it's investments.
What does that even mean? People invests in places that makes them money. If they do not invest in your country, it's because they could not make money in your country :)

That said, the vast majority of "foreign" investment in China that developed it came from Hong Kong. Not the West ;)
