Mahbubani is a CCP stooge . He's indirectly asking India to join the RCEP blaming our lack of economic heft in ASEAN vis a vis the Chinese on our non participation in the RCEP. He receives little to no traction in Delhi or other western capitals for his allegiance is too well known .

As far as ASEAN is concerned apart from trade what exactly is innovative in their economies ? Why exactly are Chinese OEMs shifting lock stock & barrel to ASEAN countries especially Vietnam , Thailand , Indonesia , etc ? You think of India & the rest of the world as fools not to see & understand what's happening there ?

It's not as easy as you think to withdraw once you're in it. Think Brexit & the time it took to thrash out an agreement once they withdrew from EU.

India's not interested in RCEP. Neither will it be for the foreseeable future.

It's not the EU, it's just a tariff agreement. Borders are not open. Exiting the agreement is not hard.



It is a shame that India will not join. RCEP has a very good future. There will be many new members joining.
