Ah , here comes the explanation now after the propaganda.

Apparently, hundreds of thousands of cars were built for internet sharing companies that failed coz they didn't get the subsidies or investments they were looking for & in the meanwhile these cars were already heavily subsidised by the CCP which in turn is a burden on the Chinese exchequer to be borne eventually by who else but the Chinese people.

In normal societies such cars would be offered for sale at discounted rates in auctions . Not so in China for they're junk to begin with & besides the Chinese are not keen to spend as of now given the many uncertainties in the economy.
