Chinese Brands Make Up 62 Percent of Israel's EV Sales in Q1-Q3
(Yicai) Oct. 3 -- Chinese brands accounted for 62.19 percent of the gross sales of electric vehicles (EV) in Israel in the first three quarters of 2023, showed statistics issued by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association yesterday.
As many as 25,902 of 41,647 units sold between January and September were Chinese brands, while last year, Chinese carmakers sold 13,294 units, accounting for 48 percent of the annual EV sales in Israel.
Chinese carmaker BYD stood as the best-selling EV brand so far this year by selling 13,481 cars during the first nine months. Most of them the subcompact crossover SUV Atto 3.
Meanwhile, BYD was also in fourth place in Israel's overall car sales rankings which include both gasoline and electric cars.
Another Chinese carmaker, Geely Auto Group, sold a total of 6,180 Geometry C compact crossovers in the first three quarters, holding second place in EV sales in Israel.
The figure marks a 45.28 percent year-over-year increase in Geely's sales in Israel after it sold 4,254 electric cars in same period last year.
Tesla, the American automaker, secured the third position by selling 5,463 electric vehicles, while Hyundai Motor of South Korea closely followed with 4,099 electric cars sold.
Regarding the sales of gasoline-powered cars, Chery Automobile, a Chinese automaker that entered the Israeli market in late 2022, ranked the seventh with 10,314 cars sold in the first three quarters.

Xinjiang didn't have any terror attack for 12 yrs, let me share my experiences for recent one week stay:

1. Break the social structure with mosque centric community. 20 yrs ago, i visited here, every villiage had 1 or 2 mosques. Now for the whole 3000km road trip, i only see less than 5 mosques. One side was CCP dis functioned 90% of them, another side is cutting the financial channels from SA and Turkey.

2. Send all young people to school or vacational collage (western called them re education camp). teacher them modern tech, not THAT BOOK.

3. Cut the Uyghur language usage on modern social life. Except signboard of road networks, even the menu and shops are full of "national universal language (Chinese mandarin)". Plus all Tik Tok and mobile payment are Chinese, they are the WMD for their Islamic culture.

Even the name of Bazaar on the building, has no Uyghur txt, only small shops have.

If they want to use Uyghur language, good read the boring book of Xi. :crying:

The Xinjiang museum, all contents only in Chinese and English. And it explained how Buddhism got popularity in history, but almost didn't mention how Islamic spreading in the region.

4. Bringing jobs and economic opportunities to them. Attract young people live in secular ways.

5. No more isolated Uyghur community. 10 yrs ago, the Erdaoqiao in Urumqi was a no go zone for Han, now its the biggest bazaar and tourist destination in mid Asia.

CCP built a Metro station here, increased the communications with others.

6. finally, iron fist of CCP.

CCP is really a tough organization, it gives a shit about western, they did what they want. At least on this point, i support CCP.

I hope India would as tough as CCP on dealing with them. We and India don't like each other, but we don't want kill all for each other.

But they are really different.
Thre is a significant difference in the approach. The giant problem CCP has in Xinjiang is almost all of the Uighurs don’t want to be part of China. So, the cost of assimilation for CCP is very high. And if they separate from the CCP, they have enough resources with low population to be a viable state by themselves. Plus they will be supported by Turkey and the USA.
However in India’s J&K about 70-80% want to be with India and even if the 20% resort to terror to get a separate state, that state will never be viable as it will have very little resources. And the chances of international support is bleak. So, the only way the 20% kept the 80% intimidated was through global terror from Pakistan and US’ turning its face away as they needed Pakistan for war on terror. But now the strategic equation has completely changed and India has much more international cards to play.
‘For us, the cost of integrating J&K is much lower as we just need to cut off the snake’s head in Pakistan and bring Pakistan to its knees economically and perhaps even Balkanize it. We are doing both at full pace. I prefer Balkanizing Pakistan as it is just a nuisance entity not contributing to anything and just hell bent on destruction. Chances of Pakistan surviving the Indian onslaught are low. China will soon find out that it has been backing the wrong horse.

India is not blocked from EUVs unlike China. Why won't your friends buy you a major chip industry ;)

China has a massive chip industry that is still going strong despite bans explicitly imposed by the US to break it. China has family in the best chip making system on the world :)

Much of the Taiwanese military is actually Blue. In fact, the vast majority of it is Blue. Same as the Taiwanese tech and business classes. So both the captains of Industry and the Army are Blue :D

Greens are concentrated in the services, especially legal.

So how many foreign students do you have studying there ? More importantly if all the best universities are located in China why's it your students still travel to the west for advanced studies out there ?
In Weibo, there is a account from a Chinese student in Nehru university, he said he is the only collage student in India now, since the GOI this year only gave visa to one Chinese.

I believe in my citiy, any university has 200 to 300 students from India.

Screw the Indians there . Most of them would be medical students. What about the westerners there ? Man for man , how many westerners studying in China as compared to Chinese in western universities ?

You think the world's composed of fools to fall for your propaganda of Chinese Universities being graded as top universities in the world as compared to western universities by some lousy rating system such that barring a handful of students from the west who'd be studying in China even otherwise for a different set of reasons , the bulk of those students wouldn't even have heard of those Universities in China leave aside studying in them .

Government money paid for all this.

Electric cars are expensive to buy, but that doesn’t stop automakers from losing thousands on each one they sell. And while most startups find themselves scrounging for cash to cover their losses and stay afloat, Nio instead turns to the Chinese government.

Earlier this week, it was reported the Rivian loses $33,000 on every truck that rolls off its factory floor. A few days later, it announced a bond sale to try and raise an additional $1.5 billion to plow into its reserves. On the other side of the world, Chinese automaker Nio is on a similar losing streak.

Another $35,000 down the drain.

To counter these sky-high losses, Nio has so far been handed an injection of $1 billion from the Chinese government when it nearly ran out of cash in 2020. Around the same time, a state-controlled bank plowed a further $1.6 billion into the company. That same year, Nio began deliveries of its all-electric EC6 and announced that it had doubled deliveries while on the brink of collapse.

And this level of government support has other automakers and countries worried, as they simply can’t compete. This pushed the European Union to launch a probe into Chinese automakers operating in the bloc and automakers across Europe and the U.S. are scrambling to catch up with China’s tech.

However, it is far from the case that every EV maker in China is only still in business because of its government backing. In fact, automaker BYD tripled its profit to $1.5 billion in the first half of this year, and according to the latest sales figures has overtaken Tesla as the best-selling EV maker out there.

Tesla is the only profitable EV company.
