As the world's largest developing economy

You can always find a shot like this

Not surprising at all

Maybe China should learn from India

No construction, no accidents
Funny how India is the 4th largest construction market yet has no construction? With zero construction india will become 3rd largest by 2025 beating Japan. Did you do all this analysis on supercomputers using Huawei’s potato chips?

Good thing for Indian railways

Wish them success

Chinese engineers didn't stop

Yes, this is true innovation. Instead of building all those thousands of kms of HSR running nowhere at a loss , you should've waited till you mastered MAGLEV / Hyperloop.

Now that you have , you must go right ahead & build those thousands of kms of MAGLEV / Hyperloop even if means demolishing those thousands of kms of loss making HSR & demonstrate to the world that China's no longer into copying , Xu Yanjun notwithstanding , but has now graduated to INNOVATING.

China's seven-day holiday begins in a few days

All train tickets are fully booked

I also don't know which high-speed rail line is unnecessary

You don't need to as of now .

Build up your MAGLEV / Hyperloop lines in parallel to the existing HSR lines & you'd find out .

Is this the Holiday to encourage people to have babies?

That's a bigger investment than high-speed rail

China does envision it

Probably on the line between Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong

Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day
Chinese males need to have oysters more often. It's known to boost testosterone .

I'm surprised with Chinese flotillas of bottom trawlers scraping oceans across the world & the amount of oysters it must have yielded how's it Chinese TFR hasn't improved ?

Or do Chinese ladies prefer not raise families ? Seems like it. Your equality program seems an astounding success Chang.

Your fellow citizens don’t have coal to heat their homes in the harsh Helionjiang winters and CCP wants to run maglev between cities? I wonder what the citizens of Inner Mongolia, helionjiang and other provinces that cannot afford to buy coal but instead burning clothes to stay warm have to say about this? Probably get arrested by the urban police for petitioning in Beijing?

I think the citizens of those remote provinces are more clever than you give them credit for . If they complain too much there won't be any clothes left to burn in order to keep warm & they'd have to burn each other .

Right out of the pages of the famines during the 5 pests campaign & the great leap forward where man ate man & anything he could lay his hands on including babies , mud , grass , bark , etc .

I have a genuine question without all jingoism, how will all this be profitable, I can understand making bullet trains in the east cost, there is enough footfall there but this indiscriminate building of high-speed rail. I mean we are already worried about the profitability of half the transit metros we have built, I really hope we don't overbuild HSR in this country. The Chinese population density in many regions is significantly lower than tier 3 cities in India still you have HSR going there.

China plans to build a giant chip factory driven by particle accelerator

if true; huge development. US chip monopoly coming to an end.
This reminds me of another country that said we will eat grass but make the bomb. Looks like the Chinese peasants are going to starve to death so CCP can “beat” the US.

You cannot overbuild HSR. Most countries will strain their resources to a breaking point trying to build one line.

India shouldn't worry until it actually finishes a line. Until that day, it would be like me worrying that I might buy two Lambhorginis instead of one. It is a senseless worry until I can afford even one Lambhorgini :)

呃得就呃

The above is a phrase in Cantonese which means , cheat , if you can !

What a wonderful race of people the Chinese are !! Here they pull off another con on the opening night of the Asian Games that @rockdog was boasting about . Evidently in next year's audit the firecrackers which were all FX will be accounted for , no questions asked .

The documentary also examined why both the Chinese people & the CCP compliment each other when it comes to cheating which has been institutionalised now for several generations presented here thru examples of pigs being painted black because black pigs command a premium in the market & many more such instances.

Watch this mini documentary & be more than amazed by that species of mankind on earth called the Hanimal.

You most certainly can overbuild infrastructure, there are several examples of that. And yes most certainly it's an expensive proposition, which only provides returns in situations where very dense population centers are connected to each other and the distance between these centres is 300-700 km. Frankly we built it with cheap JICA debt, otherwise I am not sure if it would be financially responsible.

What you are suggesting is that we take upon these expensive transit projects without any cost analysis because they are expensive? A Lamborghini is very often a status symbol, you don't build transit as a status symbol.
