Chinese chip design and R&D pales in comparison to India’s. Almost every company including hugely valued startups have setups in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Along with Tel Aviv, Bangalore and Hyderabad are the tech powerhouses of the world. No Chinese city can even come close. The huge numbers of former intel, NVIDIA, AMD, ARM etc Indians is about 100 times more than the Chinese community. Qualcomm alone has a massively huge R&D setup in India. Snapdragon was mostly designed in India along with some parts in Israel. No chip company can ever compete with Indian chip designers. Shanghai has a few of them but Indian cities have ten times more. Take NVIDIA;s new AI jobs - 50% are posted for Bangalore location. And the salaries for these guys are $100000+ in India - that is the equivalent of 16 Wumaos working for low wages in Guangdong hellhole. Every wealthy technology startup has an Indian presence - making several Indians hugely wealthy as they go IPO. After Tokyo, Bangalore has the highest Grade A office space in Asia. And Bangalore’s average salaries are higher than any Chinese city’s. Today in Bangalore, Hyderabad and increasingly Delhi - you can find engineers of every sort - from AI to just basic code writers, with many of them having experience in hugely successful global startups. No way there is anything remotely close to this ecosystem in China. China can never ever beat India in global technology services - and that is where the real money is. Look at the massive success of education startups in India. China is nowhere.China's main exports:
Exports The top exports of China are Broadcasting Equipment ($208B), Computers ($141B), Integrated Circuits ($108B), Office Machine Parts ($82.7B), and Telephones ($54.8B)
These are all underpinnings of a technological economy.
There are far more chip designers in China than India. China has a much greater ecosystem in chips than India. It is the only thing that allowed Chinese companies to survive despite an attack from the US on depriving chips to China.
China's software companies are not back offices like India's top companies. That is why China's economy (and salaries) on average are five times India's.
Your view of China's economy is completely out of touch with reality.
BTW, China's exports is just one engine in the Chinese economy. China's biggest engine is the biggest consumer market in the world!
