China's main exports:

Exports The top exports of China are Broadcasting Equipment ($208B), Computers ($141B), Integrated Circuits ($108B), Office Machine Parts ($82.7B), and Telephones ($54.8B)

These are all underpinnings of a technological economy.

There are far more chip designers in China than India. China has a much greater ecosystem in chips than India. It is the only thing that allowed Chinese companies to survive despite an attack from the US on depriving chips to China.

China's software companies are not back offices like India's top companies. That is why China's economy (and salaries) on average are five times India's.

Your view of China's economy is completely out of touch with reality.

BTW, China's exports is just one engine in the Chinese economy. China's biggest engine is the biggest consumer market in the world!

These are the biggest grossing films in 2021 globally. Three of them are Chinese. And the one non-China one, F9, had its biggest draw in China:
1Hi, Mom$822,009,764
2The Battle at Lake Changjin$740,800,000
3F9: The Fast Saga
$716,591,945
4Detective Chinatown 3$686,257,563

These are the biggest films in India in 2021:
TitleProduction CompanyDistributorWorldwide GrossRef.
1Bell Bottom*Pen Marudhar Entertainment₹50.58 crore(US$6.7 million)[1][2]
2RoohiJio Studios₹30.33 crore(US$4.0 million)[3][2]
3Mumbai SagaAA Films₹22.29 crore(US$3.0 million)[4][2]
4Radhe₹18.33 crore(US$2.4 million)
Chinese chip design and R&D pales in comparison to India’s. Almost every company including hugely valued startups have setups in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Along with Tel Aviv, Bangalore and Hyderabad are the tech powerhouses of the world. No Chinese city can even come close. The huge numbers of former intel, NVIDIA, AMD, ARM etc Indians is about 100 times more than the Chinese community. Qualcomm alone has a massively huge R&D setup in India. Snapdragon was mostly designed in India along with some parts in Israel. No chip company can ever compete with Indian chip designers. Shanghai has a few of them but Indian cities have ten times more. Take NVIDIA;s new AI jobs - 50% are posted for Bangalore location. And the salaries for these guys are $100000+ in India - that is the equivalent of 16 Wumaos working for low wages in Guangdong hellhole. Every wealthy technology startup has an Indian presence - making several Indians hugely wealthy as they go IPO. After Tokyo, Bangalore has the highest Grade A office space in Asia. And Bangalore’s average salaries are higher than any Chinese city’s. Today in Bangalore, Hyderabad and increasingly Delhi - you can find engineers of every sort - from AI to just basic code writers, with many of them having experience in hugely successful global startups. No way there is anything remotely close to this ecosystem in China. China can never ever beat India in global technology services - and that is where the real money is. Look at the massive success of education startups in India. China is nowhere.

These are in Hindi, I think and won’t gross worldwide revenues as the movie topics are very Indian. Chinese data cannot be trusted, secondly. Thirdly, movie grosses are no indicators of internal economy. Lol. By this yardstick Australians are very poor because their movie industry is very little. On;y stupid wumaos can come up with such logic - hardly surprising given the low levels of quality education in China.

Interesting Geography: 70% of India's agricultural population, but the proportion of tertiary industries is nearly 60%?

The 2020-05-01 06:16

From global to regional, we have done too many issues of industrial restructuring or upgrading. But it is too difficult for India to reform its industrial structure! Look at this figure -- agriculture accounts for about 70% of the population in India, but tertiary industry accounts for nearly 60%. What's going on here?

What kind of country is India?

India, located in South Asia, is the largest country in the subcontinent. It borders Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and China to the northeast, myanmar to the east, Sri Lanka to the southeast across the sea, and Pakistan to the northwest. Bangladesh in the east, the Arabian Sea in the west, the coastline is 5,560 kilometers long.

Countries and transportation in South Asia

The population of India is 1.326 billion (2016), the second most populous country in the world after China. It is composed of more than 100 ethnic groups, the majority of which is Hindustani, accounting for 46.3% of the total population of The country.

Why is there so much agricultural population in India?

Some developing countries, such as India, Bangladesh and Indonesia in Asia, have lagged behind their corresponding level of economic development and industrialization. India, the largest country in South Asia, was 17 percent urbanized in 1950, compared with 13 percent in China. However, with the development of China's reform and opening up, the urbanization process has accelerated. In 2017, China's urbanization level has reached 58.52%.

But India's urbanization level was only 32.8 percent in 2017, nearly 26 percentage points behind China and below the average of developing countries.

Reasons for the low level of urbanization in India is mainly due to the foundation of social construction, because India has not establish a unified national market, so the government is hard to get tax from the states, thus it is difficult to large-scale infrastructure construction, we from India train speed can see India's infrastructure is very poor. The lack of transportation, urban amenities, urban services and other functions has seriously hindered India's urbanization process, which is expected to reach 38% by 2025.

Third, why does India have such a high proportion of tertiary industries?

As can be seen from the chart, since 1996, the tertiary industry in India has been much higher than the primary and secondary industries.

Changes in the share of India's three industries

In the agricultural structure of primary industry, India is mainly planted, and mainly rice, wheat and other food crops. Due to the strong influence of the southwest monsoon, the temporal and spatial distribution of precipitation is unbalanced, with frequent floods and droughts, so the food production is very unstable. Now, it is basically "dependent on the weather", coupled with the large population, resulting in nearly 1/4 of the population is still difficult to meet food and clothing.

△ Agriculture and industry in India

In the industrial structure of the secondary industry, the slogan of "high quality and low price" is an effective way of sales. However, The pharmaceutical industry with advantages in India lacks independent products and technologies, that is to say, it does not have its own brand, and it is difficult to have formal sales channels in the international market. In addition to the label of developing countries, are often into the "shanzhai" industry. Moreover, as the largest manufacturing industry in India, more than 90% of cars are OEM factories in developed countries, and there are only a few products and technologies truly belonging to India. Because of its weak infrastructure, India is doing well in sectors with low supply chain requirements such as pharmaceuticals, software and outsourcing services.

In the tertiary industry service industry, India's I T industry can be said to be their pride, India's booming software services development rapidly, has made an important contribution to economic growth. But in this industry, it's all outsourcing, outsourcing, outsourcing, and there are hardly any Indian brands. In addition, the software industry plays a weak role in driving employment in India. First, these high-tech industries have high requirements on the quality of labor force, while the literacy rate of adults aged 15 and above in India is only about 72% (2015), so the industrial demand does not match the quality of labor force, which naturally leads to few employment opportunities. Second, the employment cooperation between industries is weak. For example, the tertiary industry, which mainly focuses on financial service information, is knowledge-intensive and requires high input of human capital. It has little driving force for traditional domestic manufacturing and infrastructure, and lacks sufficient driving force and lasting power for economic development. Third, the brain drain is too large. With the advanced development of Indian software, Indian education almost cultivates the elite class, but the talents cultivated are subject to the difference in salary and treatment at home and abroad, resulting in serious brain drain, which aggravates the gap in economic development at home and abroad and forms a vicious circle.

In this unique social structure -- the coexistence of "elite class" and "backward class", the basic industry has not developed, the secondary industry is unreliable, and the tertiary industry has developed beyond normal, which will naturally affect India's domestic economic development and become its bottleneck.
About 90% of the above is trash quality research. India’s urbanization statistics are way wrong due to badly classified definitions of urbanism. Many urbanized towns are still classified as rural villages in India. This is the same bad way of analyzing India as these so-called hunger stat guys do - using outdated data from 2014-15. Indians have much more access to a wide variety of food choices than any other south Asian country. India’s agricultural workforce is also grossly exaggerated. Many rural Indian folks are in services and not in agriculture. They are miscounted as being in agriculture as many people put their professions as agriculture to pay zero income tax and take advantage of land sale restrictions. These are all badly designed social policies that lead to such perverse things - like small urban towns classifying as villages, non-agriculture workers classify as agriculture etc. India is a complex society with many bad ways of policy making and data collection. Anyone using data from india in a simplistic manner is either a leftist NGO or a low IQ wumao or a jhopdi jhumla Indian commie/congressi.

China as a trash factory of cheap products

Yes, when we buy anything in the West, which are mostly made in China, it is assumed that it will breakdown sooner than later. My Chinese built refrigerator have had 3 service calls in two years. The previous one is running for 35 years. My wife complains that her clothes have bad zippers. The humidifier I purchased, lucky for me, it stopped working after 10 days, so I returned it to the seller.

These are all products made in China or in my opinion Chinese trash factories. The price is cheap hence we buy but quality is so bad that we regret later. Alternatively, there is nobody else selling anything better. Whatever, I believe is better and high priced is also made in China, so I am scared to part with extra cash.

This is the story of Chinese merchandise on the shelves, in North America and Europe. Everything is bad.

I do not regret if Chinese make copies of western products for their internal consumption, but I do mind, if they turn out these trash items for export.

Now I am beginning to understand the recent Chinese real estate bankruptcies. Main reason is debt but also the construction quality is third rate hence nobody wishes to live in these houses. Therefore tons and tons of these houses are unoccupied. Unoccupied houses are a burden on the builder, hence real estate market collapsed.

Oh God! Save us from the scour-age of Chinese cheap products. I will pay extra for durable product made locally or elsewhere, but will not bring trash into my house.

  • India is essentially a pre-modern country
  • Lack of strong government, divided and independent states
  • The lack of rigorous and accurate data is also inevitable
  • What India needs now is to upgrade its industrial capacity If India needs to get out of poverty

China is going to commercialize space :)

And the US think they are dealing with a moribound communist country like the USSR where people had to wait in line for a bar of soap. China has an over-abundance of goods so they export. LOL

China is a mixed economy with socialist trappings but underpinned by a capitalistic outlook and philosophy even among state enterprises. Always looking for an opportunity to increase wealth for nation and people.

Chinese are belligerent, have too much military men under third rate arms and not only that they have too much money to spread around and intimidate the neighbourhood and worst of all US is only watching. US spends too much time on pointless Russian affairs of no value. The real issue is Chinese financial and economic power which is the backbone of its power.

If you really wish to cut the Chinese financial and economic power over yourself and others then President Biden, break the supply chain nexus of China. Go ahead and rebuild with other nations with cheap labour and infrastructure. Just take it away from China. They will fall in line. Right now nobody has challenged them of their bad behaviour.

Most Chinese would love it if we do business with India because simply business makes everyone richer.

This philosophy is why China is still growing despite immense hostility from the West and India (the US is trying to destroy Chinese companies like Huawei and India bans Chinese applications from even entertainment companies like Tik Tok!)

China has a pretty small defense budget ratio compared to its GDP. India spends a much bigger percentage of its GDP than China.

Defense equipment is cool but they are not a good return (profit) so China spends far more to creating more business opportunities than defense. This is why China is a world trade leader even though many countries, including India, has a much lower wages than China.

I think this is the biggest difference between Chinese and Indians. We trade with anyone including people who hate us. So of course, Chinese would love to build the HSR in India just like Chinese love having Indian dances in Tik Tok.

But it is unlikely to happen because like Tik Tok, Indian government will not allow it. So China will build its HSR in other places like Indonesia, Thailand and Laos.

Military expenditure as percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) in highest spending countries 2020

United States 3.7%
India 2.9%
South Korea 2.8%
United Kingdom 2.2%
France 2.1%
Australia 2.1%
China 1.7%

Chinese spend a lot more than 1.7%. Their statistics are a lie.

Really? Then how come we trade so much more than any one in the world if we spent all our money buying weapons? LOL

Don't confuse total expenditure with percentage. China's defense percentage is very low but the total amount is very big because the Chinese economy is very, very big.

China's economy is very very big because we prioritize business over warfare. In the 1970s, China was just as poor as India and we traded just as little as Indians. But we are many times richer than Indians today because of this policy and philosophy of business and trade.
