Source for 43?

If so then this is BS, crew wouldn’t be higher than a dozen unless they took out a small skyscraper on the way down but looks like it hit an empty field.

According to some media reports, the aircraft involved is a PLA Air Force Y-8GX4 Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) aircraft, with serial no: 30513, assigned to the PLAAF 20th Special Missions Division. The Y-8G fleet of the division is reportedly based close to the crash site. Some reports added that around 40 people were killed in the crash and there are no survivors.

I think we already know... they couldn't have their brand new C919 crash reported as that would destroy all of their dreams for aviation domination. It is so interesting watching Chinese watchdogs scrub and spin the internet as the story unfolds.

Official story doesn’t add up sure but I’ll hesitate to jump to C919 crash. That doesn’t make much sense either as why would it be carrying 40 passengers on a test flight?

When the KJ-2000 crashed during its certifications it was carrying 40 people. They would not be passengers but engineers and technicians monitoring system performance plus flight crew.

Right but 40 is ridiculous. Even test crews don’t number higher than a dozen for test flights. Most of the systems are monitored remotely from the ground.

When they fly new airliners for the first time the number onboard is rarely more than 6, granted electronic snooping systems will require more but not 40!

It was well into testing for long haul flights placing it out of the range of remote stations. The testing facilities are not what you find at Boeing or Airbus, most work is done manually.

The field test team are the ones in the first row.

Even little ARJ21 has a large testing crew.

Planes crash all the time, especially if you are a substandard manufacturer like China. I wonder how many videos they delete or just keep silent about such incidents. No accountability, whatsoever.
deleting video, that might be true. but keeping silent, not necessary. Xinhua news agency reported that crash on January 29th.

then what kind of argument is yours? Chinese statistic is not authentic, blah, blah; Chinese government covers up everything, blah, blah.

what truth? Indian trains are not deadly?
Mine is a riposte meant to negate your rhetoric so that you would stop diverting from the subject and stick to the point.

And China is nothing if not famous for hiding failures.

Also yes, we have a shit ton of problems but unlike you, we know they exist.
Its funny how you use our sources to bolster your confirmation bias, but when the same sources say something anti china you lot get so defensive.

So yes, stick to the topic i.e. planes.

It cant be this and here is the reason for the same.

Chinese Plane crash.jpg

here is what Y-8GX4

this is how it looks when flying

Y-8GX4-2.jpg

Video image shows only two engines, had it been Y-8GX4, all 4 engines would have been visible in the video.

now that match perfectly

Chinese Plane crash - Copy (2).jpg

in some pics you can see the bulge, specially on second pic at the top.
Even in 3rd and 4th it is somewhat visible.

According to Chinese saying it was Y-8 the death toll was 43. There is no way a SIGINT aircraft would carry that many people. Then of course there is the fact China scrubbing the internet to get any evidence of that airliner out of existence.
Please provide the Chinese news source with that 43 casualty statistic.

There are only two flying C919 prototypes. It would be impossible to hide a crash by either one. Please provide a source for your claim that one of them has indeed crashed.

The site Apple Daily listing 43 has been scrubbed by Chinese censors, still others left say 40.

If you still have one left it is not hard to fake. Please stop being a link troll. You know Chinese censors will not allow the crash of C919 to become public.

You wanting a C919 to crash does not mean a C919 prototype has crashed.

How convenient. The site you're using as a source states 40 people dead. Not 43. It also clearly names a Y8 series transport aircraft, not the C919.

These pilots and flight observers are the only people on board during any test flights. Very high profile test pilots like Qian Jin BTW who were involved in the ARJ21s flight testing, how exactly would COMAC or "Chinese censors" hide their deaths?

The C919s are full to the brim with Western supplied components. Many Boeing, Bombadier and Airbus airliners fly with the same avionics and equipment found on the C919. There would have to be a full investigation on which components failed. It's aerospace procedure. Unless they suddenly build a new prototype overnight, how exactly are they going to fake it?

Where exactly would you fit 40 people here? Tie them to the floor?

Time and time again, you prove ignorant on basic aerospace procedure and on China in particular. Yet you're always willing to create your own narratives, but can never produce the sources to back your fantasies up.

A link troll indeed. I post veryfiable information; most of your posts on this thread are loaded with B.S.. YOU STILL HAVENT PROVIDED A SOURCE FOR YOUR CLAIM THAT A C919 PROTOTYPE HAS CRASHED... I'm waiting mate.

the fake title of this thread speaks volume for the credibility of this forum, no serious sources stated that it was a C919.

And PLAAF released information about the crash right after it happened, though giving no further details. apparently it was a military plane, those who attempted to prove that it was a C919 are simply jealous of Chinese accomplishment in civilian aviation.

Again, stop diverting from the subject.
The CCP has been caught with its pants down.
Refer to @sayareakd post #37 & #38.

The Y8 with its straight wing configuration doesn't look anything like the plane on the video with its engines on fire, which has a swept wing design.

You can clearly also see that there are only two engines on the flaming plane on the video whereas the Y8 has 4 turboprop engines.

Spectators take photos as they watch the Comac C919, China's first large passenger jet, coming in for a landing on its maiden flight at Shanghai's Pudong airport on May 5

Ouch.
