RSS-cyber friends tell me that Congress is about to mount a huge character-assassination exercise of Netaji on the Internet to split/confuse/misinform public opinion before BJP begins putting out his files in January. You will suddenly come across swarms of posts being one or more versions of the narrative "how should someone who made friends with dictatorships in Nazi-Germany/Imperial-Japan not be seen as one?"

Nehru murdered Netaji, so it's obvious which direction Congress wants to take its narrative (glorification of Gandhi/Nehru with demonisation of Netaji).

British left India because of INA. They repackaged the Raj in the form of Gandhi and Nehruvian Congress, who soon after independence, rewrote history.

This, if true, is unfortunate.

Freedom of Speech gives one the right to say anything, but that also gives one to say anything countering that anything. In this vein, Congress should be allowed to say all they can, and there shall be counter points as well.

GoI is going to ask Russia to reveal whatever details they have about Netaji. Hopefully, they reveal, and if they do, we shall know a lot more than what we do now.

I'm skeptical that Russia would help. Russia is pals with Congress more than India. Russia and Congress go way back. It was the Soviets who assisted in Indira's coup of Congress, and helped her eliminate Shastri.

Nehru used Russia and the British-American combine in equal measures to get rid of Netaji. None of them will help India with this declassification.

As if the world will believe character assassination. Netaji is a hero and having a foreign wife or collaborating with Hitler will hardly change the stance of patriotic Indians. He did the best in his capacity to help India win freedom.

Congees if they do that would only be digging their own grave.
the best approach for them would be to acknowledge the mistakes and carry on, this would be less damaging to them.

Most of India revers Nataji more than it cares for Nehru.
