Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences project is under construction in New Delhi. It is modelled on the MoD's AFMC & Army R&R hospital. It will be available for all 4 CAPFs, AR, NSG, IB & other CPOs. The CAPFIMS is being built at the cost of 1350 crore and will have 300 seat medical college, 500-bed General Hospital, a 300-bed Super Specialty Hospital, a Nursing College and a School of Paramedics. It is being built by L&T and deadline is Dec 2021.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today rolled out the 'Ayushman Bharat CAPF' healthcare scheme on pan-India basis for the personnel of all Central Armed Police Forces in all states in phased manner. The scheme will be availed by the end of Dec 2021 benefitting 35 lakh CAPF personnel


Home Minister rolled out the scheme in phased manner by handing over the health card to some NSG soldiers.

"Modi govt is committed to ensure healthcare facilities of CAPF personnel & their families, so that the CAPFs can discharge their duties with full concentration," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also said that "the Modi government has always given priority to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)".

CRPF personnel have poor living conditions and work life balance. Incidents of suicide and fratricide are increasing.

National Training Centre for Dogs is the centre where K9 of different CAPFs are trained. There are two NTCDs : one under BSF(in Madhya Pradesh) and another under ITBP(in Haryana). CRPF and CISF have their own dog training centres.
