After this story on Indian Express giving details of email exchanged between Pronoy Roy and price water, I don't know why CBI is investigating only 48 crore interest loss to NDTV. Why didn't the tax department act against NDTV for alleged 1000s of crore tax evasion? Why didn't ED act and start investigating against millions of $$ received by NDTV by shell companies?

these left-right are superficial terms in the context of India. there's no 'right-wing' as such here, & the left is more of a coolie that has no ideology of its own & acts & subsists (& promotes) on the imports of ideas it gets from abroad.
this started during the JNU-row of last year. there was a very visible rift between the media-spectrum, with Arnab representing the pro-nation voices. with his questioning of congress & AAP leaders during the time over their support to the maoist 'students', and then increasingly over the period of time, he had been embarrassing the jain brothers. things reached a tipping-point when reportedly karan johar called up the timesnow mgmt to complain about Arnab (paki-actors in b'wood row); & one fine day, Arnab was barred from entering his own 'newshour' studio which he had created. Arnab though had pre-empted all this & was seemingly ready for any eventuality.

In the tax assessment case of Abhisar Sharma, Rs 43 lacs was added to his Income in lieu of holiday expenses borne by NDTV, his employer. This, all-expenses-paid holiday is said to be the bribe given to Abhisar Sharma and his wife (Sumana Sen, who was the Income Tax Officer looking into NDTV case). The effect of this addition of Rs 43 lacs is that it proves Sumana Sen and Husband received undue benefits from NDTV. Now Sumana Sen has approached Supreme court with a PIL that Sanjay Srivastava (Income Tax Officer who nailed NDTV) is harassing her and hence The order of adding Rs 43 lacs to her and her husband’s Income should be quashed. If this addition is quashed, Sumana can claim she was never bribed.
If Gurumurthy’s comments are correct, this incident warrants an inquiry by the government.
Jail is only a change of residence for them.
