It is clear to anyone who follows Pakistan, that the Pakistani establishment will not change its approach towards India in the near future. It is also clear that Pakistani establishment probably realized eons back that India is not THE problem. However, it makes ample sense to treat India as THE problem because it allows them to maintain their stranglehold over the country. (And also makes sense to support terrorism because it gives them the most bang for the buck.)

Unless Pakistan gets a radical change of leadership or an "enlightened powerful civil-society" the status quo will continue*.

*Possibly the external pressures such as India's, West's, Islamic World's can force Pakistan to change but currently the way things are, I doubt it.
now thats what i call "satya vachan" i.e the universal truth

Pakistan is a cancer to the world in the form of terrorism. Cancer is better controlled by surgical removal of tumor when it is benign (means localized) before it starts metastasizing (means spreading) to other parts of the body and kill the person eventually. Same applies to Pakistan, the benign tumor that is Pakistan army and its tanzeems need to be surgically removed before they start destroying the rest of the world.

Radiation and Chemotherapy have never worked in curing cancer, they only extended life of the person with massive side effects. World should not wait that long to treat cancer, that is pakistan, with radiation or chemotherapy. Its high time for surgical removal of cancer.

ohh please your Highness send the glorious Troops of IA to Afghanistan for a clean up

BTW are you all right? or you just had a dose of Indian Super Power Syrup

Some Indians are very eager to fight the Taliban....
No one is saying that india is perfect or for that matter usa is perfect...if you would look around the threads concerning these two countries in related forums then sure you will know people generally dont love pak bashing but then truth has to be told as for that mater truth regarding india and usa and many other countries are told in relevant threads if you cared to venture out.

Singh has aptly summed it up.

No matter what the American President says, Pakistan cannot and will not cease its enmity towards India. All those decades of indoctrination of "Its all because of India" have to be maintained to stop the Pakistani public from drawing parallels with India and realize the curtains they've been put under.
Till now, the Taliban and its off-shoots served the purpose fairly well, by spreading anti-India propaganda through various religion-oriented means. They convinced all those that could be, about India's direct threat to Islam and its followers. Unfortunately, the Taliban is out of its leash and know how to rattle the country in very precise terms.

Unless the people of Pakistan stand up against the current school of thought, we can bid adieu to any hopes of peaceful co-existence.

This is the information age. This is the age of the internet. Apart from dedicated trolls who seek to revel in patriotism by covering the country's wrongs, people will gradually realize the real facts put under a farce mask of blaming others. They'll realize that they've been cheated and lied to. They'll realize that their military leaders have carefully created and then fed on their paranoia . The day we have minds liberal enough to look past the propaganda and become/choose leaders with an alternate mindset, there will be a lot to look forward to.

Idealism aside, I still see possibilities of PA's reconciliation with the Talibs. I still think PA'll manage an under-the-table settlement with them. They always have. Start another massive funded influx into Kashmir and voila ! Or allow them to rain down on Balochs..

This is still nowhere near the endgame. There's a lot between the lines.

I think people must not go by words which obama and his officials utter. They must look for ominous signs of usa actions on the ground.....there has been let up in drone strikes (4 so far in less than 2 weeks) after faisal shazad's failed time square bombing on May 1...Now Al Jazeera is reporting that usa afghan force had crossed into pakistan.Dont know how true it is but it will be only 2nd time when usa had crossed into pakistan first being during bush's regime.

Skirmish at Afghan-Pakistan border

Afghan and foreign forces are reported to have crossed into Pakistan in pursuit of undisclosed targets as a military offensive appears to be spilling across the border.

The military operation started on Thursday in the Datta Khel region of Pakistan's Waziristan province,
Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder said.

"Some kind of military operation is under way on the Afghan side of the border and local tribal sources have said that there is intense fighting happening close to the Pakistan side of the border," Hyder reporting from Islamabad, said.

"A skirmish was said to have taken place in bordering Afghanistan with Taliban fighters who then tried to penetrate into Pakistan.

"Local media also said that a major offensive might be on the way on the Afghan side possibly over Taliban targets."

Denial
Pakistani military officials said the reports were baseless.

Our correspondent said that it was not yet clear as to whether the skirmish was an operation aimed at targets inside Pakistan.

"The Pakistani military does not have any joint operations on its territory nor does it get involved on the Afghan side of the border, so it would appear that this is an Afghan, American, Nato operation going under way on the Afghan side of the border," he said

Whenever these operations take place so close to the border areas, there is confused because there is not light, it is night time so its very difficult to know what is going on."
As i had said before that usa's action gound speaks what it thinks not the words spoken in the white house.......I think usa has started chasing taliban accross durand line into pakistan 2nd report to confirm it today...

Obama should show more spine. Just words will not do, he should take some steps to clean up the cancer, not help it grow with all the dollars and arms donations.

LOL!!
If this was India, they'd be firing at us, and bashing this, that, and Pakistan media would be flooded with news. It's too bad they can't do anything about the US because then they'll have no $$$ to save their economy.
