Had the USN remained silent, we would not have even heard about this story.

They challenged us in our eez & we backed down.

Now MEA issues "strong letter", that would be used as toilet paper by the bugericans.

It's a public "humiliation" , no other way to put it.

We would have good PR in case one of our vessels got close taken a photo or short video & then posted this as " Indian Navy escorting burgerican ship out of its eez".

US Navy sails in Indian Exclusive Economic Zone; asserts it is right, India’s claim wrong

“India’s stated position on the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea is that the convention does not authorise other States to carry out in the Exclusive Economic Zone and on the continental shelf, military exercises or manoeuvres, in particular those involving the use of weapons or explosives, without the consent of the coastal State,” the MEA said

English media but majority of arabs do not read english.

No no al Jazeera has 2 parts one english and 1 arabic language...so jal jeera arabic news was most prominent/most read/most watched in gulf, Maghreb, mena region..so other gulf countries woke up late to power of jal jeera news anti saudi/uae block propaganda...and hence when qatar blockade happened One of the condition put to lift blockade by uae was Tone down or shut down of jal jeera propaganda against gulf block in Arabic language media...

I'm not going to offer any view on the timing of this, or in what light it should be seen. Members here are free to make up their own minds. But I will offer only 2 pieces of information to help you do so.

1) USN routinely conducts FONOPs in various countries' EEZs in a bid to signal that EEZ =/= Territorial Waters. These FONOPs are even carried out 'against' treaty-bound long-time allies like Japan (Tsushima Strait) and South Korea (Yellow Sea), countries to which US even provides Nuclear umbrella. So to think FONOPs is something that is done to antagonize countries that US views as hostile is blatantly wrong/misinformed.

2) Is this the first time USN is carrying out FONOPs in India's EEZ? Nope. It's been happening forever, even during Trump era (so not something that Democrats/Biden cooked up just now). Each time they do it, we issue a protest (as we should, as it's in our interest and just as US asserts their line that EEZ should be free, we also assert what we think is right.

Make of it what you will. However, do not underestimate the power of India's "NAM" lobby either.

I only see one thing: They made a special public announcement of it this time. They highlighted it.

It was not a matter of If but When.
Mutts have show their ugly faces and this is partially due to demcucks heading the office.

Fault is not their a dogs nature is to bark and shit and piss on evey blade of grass it finds amusing, it's us who refuse to wield the stick to discipline the dog.

No one is gonna help us in case of war we gotta wield our own stick.

I wanted to write more but it won't be something that already hasn't been said before.
We need to match the no of ships in Chinese fleet.
Once the world sees that we can go pound to pound with anyone they will join us.

Time is too less we need to optimally utilize our resources.
Need more Aircraft carriers 1 for Arabian sea Pakisran centric, 1 for bay of Bengal, and for Indian Ocean as whole. Once this is done we can make more for African side and Indonesian side.
More the merrier.

PR strategies of these Departments are independently managed and undergo changes from time to time.

Following are images & links regarding recently-conducted FONOPs against Sri Lanka, Maldives & even treaty-bound Nuclear umbrella-sharing ally South Korea. They are almost word-for-word the same statement template - only differences being the type of claim asserted by each country which is being countered.

It never occurs that they conduct a FONOP and then not talk about it - the USN PR Dept is duty-bound to report any activity that involves international countries & claims. EVERY. SINGLE. FONOP. is reported by the same press release format. So I fail to see what is a "special public announcement" here.

Like I said, don't underestimate power of NAM lobby. They can make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Why they didn't released these statements in past and why they don't do these freedom run for their western counterparts?

They did those runs in Japanese and SK waters because of conflicted regions. For your kind information USA didn't had a very bright relationship with Siri lanka and Maldives.

Why they suddenly started to make statements today when they were doing these runs for 30 years without any public statements.

India have a strong NAM lobby and we also have a strong amerkkii Dallal lobby.

Like I said:

"PR strategies of these Departments are independently managed and undergo changes from time to time."

What we're seeing is the latest template.

and why they don't do these freedom run for their western counterparts?
Done against Romania, Croatia, Slovenia...all European NATO countries.

But then again major European states don't really have a lot of EEZ navigation rules inconsistent with UNCLOS.

They did those runs in Japanese and SK waters because of conflicted regions.
They're challenging the rules set by their own allies, that's the point.

Why they suddenly started to make statements today when they were doing these runs for 30 years without any public statements.
First of all - what is the point that you have a problem with? The fact that they're conducting FONOPs in our EEZ, or that they're talking about it?

Like I said before, these PR strategies and templates change from time to time. The latest template, like my previous links show, did not start today but over a month ago. And India was by no means the first country to be addressed in these press statements.

India have a strong NAM lobby and we also have a strong amerkkii Dallal lobby.
So which are you?
