The Thread about Bullpup Assault Rifles from all over the world..
This radical deign proved its worth in world wide SF and Regular Armys, It offers small length compare to traditional Rifles yet gives outstanding Range, some times better than traditional deigned rifle in same category, Bullpups are firearm configurations in which both the action and magazine are located behind the trigger and alongside the shooter's face, so there is no wasted space for the buttstock as in conventional designs. This permits a shorter firearm length for the same barrel length, saving weight and increasing maneuverability in confined spaces...

The Austrian Army & Australian Army use Steyr AUG as their Regular Assault Rifle and IDF use TAR-21 as theirs also not to mention abt British forces are in use of SA80 & French use FAMAS as their regular infantry rifle..

The Steyr AUG (1977) is often cited as the first successful bullpup, achieving service among various services of over twenty countries, and becoming the primary rifle of countries such as Austria and Australia.

Size of a bullpup compare to above traditional deigns..

As the Steyr AUG is an example of a bullpup configuration, and was one of the first such configurations to enter widespread use. therefore it must be the first in this thread....

The TAR-21 (or simply Tavor) is an Israeli bullpup assault rifle chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition with a selective fire system, selecting between semi-automatic mode, burst mode, and full automatic fire mode. Tavor assault rifles to be issued to India's special forces personnel, where its ergonomics, reliability in heat and sand, and fast-point/fast-shoot design might give them an edge at close-quarters and employment from inside vehicles. The INDIAN Tavors have a modified single-piece stock and new sights, as well as Turkish-made MKEK T-40 40 mm under-barrel grenade launchers.

The SAR 21 ("Singapore Assault Rifle - 21st Century") is a bullpup assault rifle designed and manufactured in Singapore. First revealed and subsequently adopted by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in 1999, it was designed & developed over a four year period and was intended to replace the locally license-built M16S1 by the Singaporean Ministry of Defence, Singapore Army and the Chartered Industries of Singapore. Many of its design features are directly intended to counter the weaknesses of the M16 as encountered operationally by some infantrymen.

Many features are similar to Steyr AUG and some are very common with TAR-21..

The FN F2000 is an individual 5.56mm weapon system, developed at the turn of the 21st century by the Belgian armament manufacturer Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal. The F2000 is a modular weapon system; its principal component is a compact 5.56x45mm NATO-caliber assault rifle configured in a bullpup layout. The F2000 is a selective fire weapon operating from a closed bolt. The rifle consists of two main assemblies: the barreled receiver group and the frame, coupled together by means of an axis pin located above the trigger guard. The barrel group has an integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail used to mount optical sights. The frame or lower receiver contains the trigger group, the bolt and bolt carrier assembly, return mechanism and magazine well. A removable handguard is installed in front of the trigger which completes and encloses the trigger guard.

Indian Special Protection group is in use of the weapon..

The A-91 is a Russian bullpup configuration assault rifle developed by KBP. The rifle features an integrated 37 mm grenade launcher, which is mounted under the barrel (though older models had an above barrel grenade launcher). It is similar to the OC-14 Groza assault rifle.

The A-91 also features a forward case ejection system like in the FN F2000.

It can be also chambered for M43..

The SA80 (Small Arms for the 1980s) is a British family of 5.56mm small arms. It is a selective fire, gas-operated firearm. SA80 prototypes were trialled in 1976 and production was completed in 1994.The L85 rifle variant of the SA80 family has been the standard issue service rifle of the British Armed Forces since 1987, replacing the L1A1 SLR variant of the FN FAL. The improved L85A2 remains in service today. The remainder of the family comprises the L86 Light Support Weapon, the short-barrelled L22 carbine and the L98 Cadet rifle. The SA80 was the last in a long line of British weapons (including the Lee-Enfield family) to come from the national arms development and production facility at Enfield Lock.

British Forces use SA80 as their regular rifle..

The FAMAS (French: Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne or "Assault rifle of the Saint-Étienne weapon factory") is a bullpup-styled assault rifle designed and manufactured in France by MAS located in Saint-Étienne, which is now a member of the French government-owned Nexter group. It is the service rifle of the French military. After adoption, the FAMAS F1 replaced the aging MAS 49/56 rifle and MAT-49 submachine gun, and approximately 400,000 FAMAS F1 assault rifles were produced, with production now complete. The F1 was followed by the G1 that included several minor improvements such as redesigned grips, Magwell compatible with STANAG & FAMAS magazine and an enlarged trigger guard, but it remained conceptual and was never actually produced.

French forces use FAMAS as their regular infantry rifle..

Khaybar/KH-2002 is an Iranian designed assault rifle, derived from the DIO S 5.56 assault rifle and further developed by Iran's Defense Industries Organization (DIO). It was designed in 2001 with samples produced in 2003 with the eventual production of the KH2022 commencing in 2004. The KH-2002 is an Iranian indigenously produced 5.56 mm bullpup rifle, built on what seems to be a bullpup conversion of the DIO S-5.56 assault rifle, an Iranian version of the Chinese Norinco CQ rifle, by itself a clone of the M16-A1. It is similar in appearance to the FAMAS assault rifle.
