So UK remains only great power without orbital launch capability.
Britain's groundbreaking satellite launch ends in failure
NEWQUAY, England, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Britain's attempt to become the first European nation to launch satellites into space ended in bitter disappointment early on Tuesday when Virgin Orbit said its rocket had suffered an anomaly that prevented it from reaching orbit.
The "horizontal launch" mission had left from the coastal town of Newquay in southwest England, with Virgin's LauncherOne rocket carried under the wing of a modified Boeing 747 called "Cosmic Girl", and later released over the Atlantic Ocean.
"We appear to have an anomaly that has prevented us from reaching orbit," the company said. "We are evaluating the information."
The failure deals a further blow to European space ambitions after an Italian-built Vega-C rocket mission failed after lift-off from French Guiana in late December.
The rockets have since been grounded. read more

Europe has suffered a series of setbacks in the past year, with its key Ariane 6 launcher delayed, access to Russian Soyuz rockets blocked by the Ukraine war, Vega grounded and now a showcase launch for the burgeoning small launcher industry abandoned.
Virgin Orbit had initially said on Twitter that LauncherOne had reached earth orbit, a tweet it later deleted.
"Over the coming days there will be an investigation by the government and various bodies, including Virgin Orbit," Matt Archer, Commercial Space Director at the UK Space Agency said.
Virgin Orbit (VORB.O), part-owned by British billionaire Richard Branson, had planned to deploy nine small satellites into lower Earth orbit (LEO) in its first mission outside its United States base.
The mission had been heralded as a historic first for Cornwall, Britain and Europe, and thousands of enthusiasts watching from beside the runway cheered when "Cosmic Girl" took off and when they were told the rocket had been deployed.
The crowd quickly and quietly dispersed following the announcement of failure.
MISSION FAILURE
A mission failure would be the second in Virgin Orbit's history since its first launch in 2020. The company has had four successful missions.
Archer, at the UK Space Agency, said the a first stage burn had taken the rocket into space but the second stage had a "technical anomaly and didn't reach the required orbit".
A graphic display on an official video feed showed the mission at second-engine cut-off, three steps short of payload deployment about two hours after take-off.
The war in Ukraine has highlighted the importance for tactical military purposes of smaller satellites, like those being launched from Newquay, which can get into low orbit at much shorter notice than bigger ones.
It was not immediately clear how the failure, which will have to be investigated, would affect the timing or location of future missions. Virgin Orbit Chief Executive Dan Hart told reporters on Sunday that the company hoped to return to Newquay before the end of 2023.
Britain says it is the leading non-U.S. manufacturer of satellites, with 47,000 people employed in its space industry, and has called for the development of multiple potential microlaunch sites including two vertical launchpads in Scotland.
The UK Space Agency had described the Cornish mission as a moment of national pride for Britain's growing space industry while Britain's minister for science, George Freeman, told Reuters at the spaceport that it was a "historic moment".
"Lots and lots of things have been achieved and yet the milestone is obviously disappointing," Archer said. "But we will continue to press on and we will get there in the end."

Britain's attempt
On an American rocket from an American company.

Even Kazakhstan doesn't boast of Russian launches from its soil.
to become the first European nation to launch satellites into space
France did.
Even entire Ariane rocket series today is nothing but a miracle of France which is by far largest aerospace manufacturer in Europe and second largest in world, only superseded by US.
Britain says it is the leading non-U.S. manufacturer of satellites
No, those are China, France and Russia.

A country's state sponsored propaganda outlet the BBC has a special topic for "rape in india" on it's website. Try looking for a similar topic for other countries. There isn't one. As in colonial times, the sexual depravity of the hindoo must be given special attention.

Why? So that they can feed the world the propaganda that India is the most unsafe place for women, the most anti-woman country and what not.

Thats why your average Ewwropean Internet trolls make rape jokes on Indians when reality is that India is one of the safest places on earth, with one of the lowest rates of sexual assaults in the entire world.

It is actually UK which is one of the most dangerous place to be a woman in the world.

Number theory: Britain’s economic decline in five charts
Here are five charts which explain how the British economy has been losing its importance over the long arc of history
On April 10, The Times (in the UK) reported that India halted the free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations to protest against the British government’s handling of pro-Khalistan protests in London. While both the UK and Indian government have denied these reports, it is a fact that the negotiations have been stuck for a long time. And it is clear that India is not in any haste to close the deal. This, in many ways, is also a reflection of the shrinking weight of the British economy in the world. Here are five charts which explain how the British economy has been losing its importance over the long arc of history.

UK in ‘geriatric decline’ – financier
Guy Hands says Britain will soon be poorer than Poland
UK in ‘geriatric decline’ – financier

Brexit has weakened the UK economy and driven the nation into a “sort of geriatric decline,” British financier and chairman of the private equity firm Terra Firma told Bloomberg on Friday.
Since the UK left the European Union, it has been competing on the world stage, but the country’s current laws are not suitable for the new environment, billionaire Guy Hands suggested in the outlet’s weekly ‘In The City’ podcast.
Unless change happens, the UK risks becoming poorer compared to other European countries.
“I look at the UK and see that, in 2030, Poland will be wealthier than we are,” he said. “In 2040, we will be the poor man in Europe.”
According to Hands, the UK should not have left the EU, as the country needs rule of law and consistency, but not a single politician is talking about going back. He lamented that Brexit has essentially thrown the country back 50 years, to the 1970’s, a decade that is widely remembered as a time of crisis, with skyrocketing inflation, high unemployment, strikes and power cuts.
The enormous amount of political change that has happened in the UK over the past seven years has left investors concerned, and the public lacking confidence, the billionaire believes.
Now that the UK is out of the EU, the British government could take a radical approach and change some of its laws, Hands said, citing the country’s “extraordinarily complex” labor laws that are “a nightmare” compared to other European countries. The UK also needs some “boring bookkeeping,” and the current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak seems to be good at it, according to Hands.
The financier noted that the British government has succeeded in repairing some of the damage caused by Liz Truss, whose economic policies were “absolutely disastrous” and would have led to the country needing a bailout. Truss’s argument, however, that the UK needed to become much more productive to be more competitive was “100% right”.

Well I have been following their reports for quite a long time, so I know what the BBC assholes want to convey to their subscribers -http://www.bbc.com/news/world/asia/india

^The opinions of the 'experts'-the Indian coconut & the gora sahib- are particularly interesting because of their bias. And here are some nice examples of their stereotyping & racism.

They love sucking up to the Islamists while even when the latter have emerged as the biggest threat to their security.

The third rate political propaganda magazine which calls itself 'The Economist' might ask Indian scientist to build toilets, BBC might portray Kashmir as a 'human rights issue' & might call a terrorist an 'activist', but have any of them ever mentioned or criticized Pakistan's fast growing nuclear arsenal ?

Anyway I don't see any reports, criticism or scholarly journals about BBC's hatred for Americans or say Romanians, so I must believe that such a hatred do not exist.

Some example of BBC's hatchet jobs http://www.webcitation.org/5kmg7RuMR?url=http://us.geocities.com/mediawatch_india/how_to_do_hatchet_jobs_on_india.htm

Rediff reporter Arindam Banerji has chronicled what he argues are numerous cases of Indophobic bias from the BBC regarding reportage, selection bias, misrepresentation, and fabrications.

In protest against the use of the word "gunmen" by the BBC, journalist Mobashar Jawed "M.J." Akbar refused to take part in an interview following the Mumbai terror attacks, and criticised the BBC's reportage of the incident. British parliamentarian Stephen Pound has supported these claims, referring to the BBC's whitewashing of the terror attacks as "the worst sort of mealy mouthed posturing. It is desperation to avoid causing offence which ultimately causes more offence to everyone."

A controversial report from BBC accused India of sponsoring Pakistan's MQM party, a domestic party based out of Karachi, to fund anti-Pakistani activities. However, the only sources BBC managed to mention for this report was "authoritative Pakistani source", rather than independent investigation. The flawed reporting was severely criticized by India and other prominent journalists like Barkha Dutt. Expectedly, the pro-Pakistan and anti-Indian report was extensively circulated in Pakistani domestic media to fuel propaganda and conspiracy theories.

Writing for The Hindu Business Line, reporter Premen Addy criticises the BBC's reportage on South Asia as consistently anti-India and pro-Islamist, and that they underreport India's economic and social achievements, as well as political and diplomatic efforts, and disproportionately highlight and exaggerate problems in the country. In addition, Addy alludes to discrimination against Indian anchors and reporters in favour of Muslim Pakistani and Bangladeshi ones who are hostile to India.

Writing for the 2008 edition of the peer-reviewed Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television, Alasdair Pinkerton analyses the coverage of India by the BBC since India's independence from British rule in 1947 until 2008. Pinkerton observes a tumultuous history involving allegations of anti-India bias in the BBC's reportage, particularly during the cold war, and concludes that the BBC's coverage of South Asian geopolitics and economics shows a pervasive and hostile anti-India bias due to the BBC's alleged imperialist and neo-colonialist stance.

In the journal of the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, media analyst Ajai K. Rai strongly criticised the BBC for Indophobic bias. He found a lack of depth and fairness in BBC reporting on conflict zones in South Asia and that the BBC had, on at least one occasion, fabricated photographs while reporting on the Kashmir conflict to make India look bad. He claimed that the network made false allegations that the Indian Army stormed a sacred Muslim shrine, the tomb of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-u-din Noorani in Charari Sharief, and only retracted the claim after strong criticism
White pieces of turd still think they can still divert our food production to Ewwnited Shitdom like they did in the colonial era to create another Bengal Famine.

So according the these hypocrites, India should deprive its own population to ensure food safety of the world. In my opinion, we should bother about the food export only to the extent of ensuring fair prices of farmers and there should not be any other consideration at all. These bustards have looted the world till they had monopoly on some essential items. They have exported drugs and vaccines at many prices than its cost. They want everything cheap and want to sale their products at sky high prices. They need to be put in place. We can play a very important role in breaking the monopoly of west. Their Aristocracy need to be bought don to earth.
