mmm you are correct. Just wait until your people sell those fancy deadly new Tejas jets to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. China and Pakistan will not be pleased.
Aren’t you an Indian?

that is indeed huge and also geopolitically very interesting. Duterte appeared to favor China but the military seemed to favors the US and allies.
This means that we now have the capability to make our enemy concern form our arm export. China is playing this card with us by strengthening Pakistan for a long time. Our export of Weapons will cause concern for China. Now China will have to make their preparation in South China see considering their Naval assets at a risk from neighboring countries. Now they will have to respect their small nations. China will have to change its policy.

India signs pact with Philippines for supply of BrahMos missile
The signing of the “implementing arrangement” for procuring of defence materials and equipment was announced by the department of national defense of the Philippines on its Facebook page.

India and the Philippines have signed a key agreement to facilitate government-to-government deals on military hardware, including the potential supply of BrahMos cruise missiles.

The signing of the “implementing arrangement” for procuring of defence materials and equipment was announced by the department of national defense of the Philippines on its Facebook page.

The pact was signed by under-secretary Raymundo Elefante of the Philippines’ department of national defense and Indian ambassador Shambu Kumaran at Camp Aguinaldo, headquarters of the Filipino armed forces, on Tuesday.

Filipino defence secretary Delfin Lorenzana, who witnessed the signing ceremony, was quoted by The Straits Times as saying: “We are buying the BrahMos missiles.” He didn’t provide details of the procurement plans.

Lorenzana said the agreement would serve as a guide for India and the Philippines on “policies and procedures in the defence procurement”. It will also act as a “legal framework for the procurement under the government-to-government modality”, he said.

When our talks with Vietnam for selling Akash SAM and Brahmos was going on, China was rattled and requested India not to sell the same to Vietnam. When we did not respond, China pursue VIetnam not to buy the weapons from India.

We Now have many state of art weapon systems which can cause big security concern to the enemies of India's friend if India sell them these systems. It includes our advance destroyers, Brahmos missiles, Akash SAM, LCH, Astra , Tejas etc. Now we are heavy weight and we need a strong leadership which can hit according to weight. Unfortunately, we had a very weak leadership post Indira Gandhi which can not play the cards in optimum manner. Modi is a strong guy. He can take India's image very high and play smart with same resources.

Tejas mk1 might not be a big threat to china but once tejas mk2 comes,I can bet PLAAF would have hard time
yup. Step by step, right? Like that Starship of Elon Musk keeps blowing up...US/Dutch/UK give him more money to build another and try again.

With one move, your Brahmos missiles have given the Philippines it's first actual means to defend itself and counter Chinese vessels. Changed the entire playing field in the SCS.

Only difference we won't fail this time ,we can't afford it .
Tejas took long because forces were reluctant , but things changed around 2015 with change in leadership , iaf is now happy with it's performance , cats program , lift Variant ,mk 1a , all have great export potential , nobody is offering something like cats program , it is best for small forces requiring modernization at low cost .
Hope , HAL do aggressive marketing with full weapons suite , it can transform any small air force .
Well mk 2 ,is a different beast , it would be mainstay of iaf for air to ground role alongwith rafale , avionics would be amazing , surely it will give plaaf hard time if it gets exported .
We have come long way in fighter aircraft development , tedbf and amca would place us in elite club .

You can't understand our happiness looking at these projects progressing , once considered a liability DRDO has made us proud

okay, yeah my comment does make it sound like I said the Tejas were failures. Sorry, that isn't what I meant. I meant that each version of Tejas is a learning step to a better version. build it, use it, improve it, upgrade and build more, use them too. That is what I meant. Those engineers at SpaceX learn something from each launch...to them, no launch is failure if they learn.
Regarding not understanding....
I know what it is like to lose and suffer, hope for the day to get to win, or to get finally to win at something even if it is vicariously. Perhaps I can understand your happiness, at least a little.

Success on your exports and creations.

Oh, really?
Will Tejas Mk2 - a fighter still on paper cause more problem than Su-30 to PLAAF? I don't think so.
Tejas MK2 may turn out to be a better jet than 2000s' Su-30 but PLAAF's jets are also far than 2000s.

Su30 has a different role than tejas mk2 and su30 has old avionics and technology.
Tejas mk2 would have Rcs and bvr,EW advantage over su30 while su30 mostly on maneuverability

Electronics of any plane will get outdated every five year. It is true for not only MKI but any other plane as well. We have Changed the electronics of Mirage 2000 as well but they too have become outdated today.

Well, Su-30MKI also has advantage over Tejas Mk2 on range and weapon loading both of which are quite critical in the war against China. These are the two of the reasons that Rafael won the contract.

Meanwhile, don't forget that Chinese J-10C (>100 in service) already has RCS, BVR and EW advantage over Su-30MKI now according to Chinese. So, what basically what Tejas Mk2 needs to bring in is not only bridging the gap between J-10C and Su-30MKI, but also dramatically superiority over Chinese J-10C replacement in future.

Is Brahmos in-house manufacture with some Russian parts and export safe from US, CAATSA sanctions? US is threatening that.

Range is useless in air combat unless you have bvr, radar advantage
Su30 has old pesa based radars and mk2 would have GaN based AESA radar
