New Delhi: The government is making all efforts to ensure that families of troops killed in the line of duty are provided a compensation of not less than Rs 1 crore, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said.

Singh declared this after inaugurating a new government website, along with actor Akshay Kumar, that will allow common people to make monetary donations to families of paramilitary troops killed in action, with an upper limit of Rs 15 lakh to a single family.

It is a beautiful initiative, which will ensure that the families of our jawans don't suffer due to finances. Although no amount of money can replace the life of our soldiers, this is the least we can do as civilians.

the OP is all about just another episode in the series of betrayals by AK. some months back while Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure were busy assisting drought-stricken families & ShahAmir khans were contributing FWTW towards the families of martyred soldiers & were speaking against the usual stalo-mao inspired left-wing demagoguery in the liberal corridors of univs under siege & the attacks launched by their paymasters in padistan, AK all the while just stood on the sidelines doing nothing other than condescendingly looking at these celebrities (after saving huge amounts of tax) while also lending his voice to the cause of saving the stalo-maoists from the dangers of Right Wings' ill-tolerance, while continuing to bask in the glory achieved after befooling the Right Wings yet again from doing a movie demeaning Hindu deities and practices/traditions here, to doing a nationalistic kind there.
