The first major victory of Sikhs against Mughal Empire.Banda Bahadur (lakhsman Das Jamwal) forces emerged victorious by defeating Mughals under Wazir khan who was personally beheaded by Banda to avenge the killings of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh.

That is the only victory an army lead by Banda Bahadur and his followers from Maharashtra to Haryana ever scored in a large scale battle with Mughal Army of Wazir Khan and not Aurangzeb. Except a few who started from Guru Gobind Singh's ashram on the banks of Narvada River who were baptized by Guruji himself, were Sikhs. They were ordinary people of the villages in a vengeful mode to avenge all the atrocities of Aurangzeb era and more particularly murder of two innocent princes in Sirhind.

The battle was a masterly fought and all credit goes to this Rajput warrior - Banda Bahadur. All previous battles which Guruji fought were fiascos where Guruji was forced to retreat or leave. This Chappar Chirri battle was first of its kind in India's Hindu heartland and won after a lapse of 700 years.

Alas!, India and Punjab took so long to commemorate this battle at the spot of its occurrence.

^ not Fiascos. Guru Gobind SIngh ji joined scattered Hindus all over and infused new will to fight the islamist scum. Thats a big rally point. An ability to identify people like Baba Banda Singh Bahadur were masterstroke.

In 1699 Guru Gobind Singh ji Created Khalsa (militarized force). by 1705 All the Hindu Rajput kingdoms with Mughals were attacking Guru Gobind Singh ji for creating this military. Mughals attacked Sarhind and forced Guru ji and his newly created army to flee. His 4 sons and 3 of the 5 beloved one's and 40 deliverer sikhs were martyred by Mughals. Guru Gobind singh had no goal but to return to Punjab after creating a force by touring all over India. Thus he was at Nanded where he saw Banda Bairagi. He give him Hukamnamas (edicts with his signatures), his sword, his other weapons and with 5 Sikhs sent him to Punjab to get a force ready as he was touring Maratha country for more Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh ji was murdered when in sleep by two Pathans set upon him by Wazir Khan or Sarhind. This infuriated Banda Bahadur and rest is history! It took Banda over 1 year to travel from Nanded to Current day Delhi/Haryana/Punjab why? He was gathering able Sikhs!
