Oh no, BD FM is not in sync with bilal.
=======
Speaking at Munich Security conference, Bangladesh FM AK Abdul Momen highlights how his country is doing well & aspirations are rising. Thanks India, Japan for support but "China comes forward with basket of money & aggressive proposal".

EAM responds & explains while intl relationships are competitive, countries in ‘own interest should be prudent’ & ‘do due diligence’. Adds’,countries are being saddled with large debts, projects unsustainable, airports were airplanes doesn’t come, harbour wr ships doesn’t Come’

They choose what is right for them nothing wrong
There are no coincidences in geo political games.

-we know there is a shortage of USD in BD, since their companies have been instructed to reduce USD holdings and give it back to their reserve bank.
-we know BDT is gaining against turkish lira
-we know BD - Myanmar border tensions are going on since rohingya issue.
-it seems to be a case that BD is purchasing more and more weapons from turkey.
-new capabilities come, dynamics change.

the trajectory from here can go in any direction, after all countries do desperate things during desperate times.

hint is towards myanmar, not India.

The annual demand for mobile handsets is more than 35 million, but the use of local handsets is declinin

A top official of a handset manufacturer said the declining trend is a testimony of economic downturn in the countr

But Director of Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh (PRI) Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque said the declining trend may not be linked to the economic situation onl

is this an indicator of something that is about to happen to their macro economics?

Local handset making plunges

View attachment 216160

The grim scenario of the mobile manufacturing industry in Bangladesh continues to persist as local production plunged by half in the first six months of 2023, primarily due to the expandiqng grey market.

Local manufacturers produced 96 lakh handsets from January to June this year, down 48 per cent from 1.85 crore units in the same period a year earlier, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

According to the Mobile Phone Industry Owners' Association of Bangladesh, smartphone sales plunged by 42 per cent to 33 lakh in the first half of the current year compared to the same period of 2022.

Clickbaiting aside, even the title reads like a fallacy - how can an economy keep growing at such a pace and yet run into trouble at the same time? How does that even make sense? Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Ghana all went running to the IMF - they are not claiming 6% real growth; BD is.

Has there ever been an economy (before BD, ofc) that went to the IMF despite 6-7% real growth? I tried looking up a potential candidate but couldn't find one.
