NEW DELHI: Bangladesh has agreed to deport leader of banned Assamese outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) Anup Chetia to India.
An agreement to this effect was reached at the highest level late on Tuesday, concluding protracted deliberations between New Delhi and Bangladesh on the matter.
Confirming the development, Home Ministry sources told TOI that a CBI team will travel to Bangladesh soon for deportation of Chetia. His custody may then be given to Assam police.
