These are soldiers??
Boy they look bad, I think they are not proper Saudi soldiers ,but street boys handed guns being lead by a few actual soldiers.
Most of those captured seem to be houthis/Yemeni, could be Saudi militia instead of proper soldiers.

If this assumption is true, then Saudis haven’t lost much..

The main reason why the Saudi Coalition was winning until recently was the involvement of the UAE. Unlike the incompetent Saudis, UAE has a robust domestic defence policy and have a well trained and battle hardened army.

As it showcases its hardware and military expertise, Abu Dhabi is putting the world on notice: The tiny Gulf country that former US Defense Secretary James Mattis affectionately refers to as “Little Sparta” is ready to dominate the ring.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cs...y-force-to-reckon-with-as-Little-Sparta-rises

A retired US defence official joked that in the past, all the kingdom’s pilots were selected from the king’s immediate family – because “only they could be trusted not to drop a bomb on his palace”.
The former senior British official told me he was aghast at the recklessness of Saudi targeting. “This is what would happen regularly,” he told me. “We’d be sitting down for lunch and a Yemeni [from the government in exile] would get a WhatsApp message with a pin on Google Maps saying that there will be Houthis here. On that basis, an awful lot of the targeting was conducted without any verification whatsoever.”
The Saudis rely on the Brits to arm and train them and the Brits in turn rely on the Saudis for economic survival.

“The Saudi bosses absolutely depend on BAE Systems,” John Deverell, a former MoD mandarin and defence attache to Saudi Arabia and Yemen, told me. “They couldn’t do it without us.” A BAE employee recently put it more plainly to Channel 4’s Dispatches: “If we weren’t there, in seven to 14 days there wouldn’t be a jet in the sky.”
The House of Saud uses its oil revenues to buy British stocks, bonds and luxury property; it currently has £93bn invested in the British economy. David Wearing, a specialist on UK-Saudi relations at Royal Holloway University, estimates that a fifth of the UK current account deficit is financed by Saudi cash, which “stabilises an increasingly vulnerable pound”.

The Saudis deliberately keep their military weak because of an acute distrust of the Officer Corps. This article from 1990, around the time of the Gulf War has the same lesson repeatedly.

''In this part of the world, the military often does things other than defend the external boundaries,'' said the diplomat.

''The Saudi royal family looks at what happened in Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Syria-and it`s a disconcerting set of history.''
The 40,000-man army, equipped with the latest U.S. and British weapons systems, is commanded by Prince Sultan, the defense minister and brother of King Fahd. It is counterbalanced by the paramilitary National Guard, with 10,000 active members and some 45,000 reservists, all drawn from tribal levies.
Similarly, the 18,000-man air force is offset by the 4,000-member Royal Air Defense Force, which is under the ruling family`s command and, if necessary, could shoot down the air force.
Some experts argue that the acquisition of highly sophisticated weapons systems has actually hindered the development of the Saudi armed forces by overwhelming their capacity to absorb new technologies and forcing the Saudis to rely on a small army of foreign technicians.

So far, all what we know is something big has happened, the scale of the defeat is yet to be verified. Numbers online are anywhere between 2000 and 12,000. Either way, plenty of videos online by Houthi's showing thousands of prisoners. Another thing which is unverified is where they locals or Mercs? Initial reports were that majority of them were mercenaries, few even Pakistanis, but now there are reports saying that they were actually locals.

I searched around a bit more. From the looks of it, the Houthi's moved through out the night and cut off the exit points of the entire force, then Ambushed them. I remember, the Iranian revolutionary guards along with Hezbullah used the same tactics against FSA and Al Nusra in Syria, only on a much smaller scale. I wonder if Iranians have their advisors embedded with Houthi forces. This seems to have had a positive effect on the Saudi's who now wants "peace" with Iran. Only 1 year ago he was claiming that war with Iran was inevitable. I wonder if this somehow spoils Trumps plan of taking out Iran.

Saudi prince says war with Iran would gut world economy

Also, I wonder if there is any relation to the Saudi Bodyguard of MBS which was killed. Apparently, he was killed during a fire fight with security forces.

Saudi King Salman's bodyguard is killed in 'personal dispute'

Of course Arabs are claiming this to be a personal Dispute. Seems like a classic cover up. Looks like he was relieved of his post just a few days ago before his murder. "The Sun" is claiming this to be related to him having dirt on MBS for Jamal Kashoggi murder. I'm trying to find a link here, but unlikely.

I hereby recommend to Saudi Arabia that it relieve Rahell Sharif and appoint you as the commander of Houthi campaign. It pays good salary. Unless, you are rich and don't need a good paying job.
lol houthis threw his job application in the garbage.

its also true that saudi doesnt expect their soldiers to fight cuz them dont trust their soldiers...basically its the same in any arab country.
but they trust the militia to do the hit job..its kinda like a business deal

Does anyone find it odd that among the weaponry captured by the Houthis, there is barely any American firearm... most of the captured weaponry seem like they were just picked up from the battlefields of Afghanistan when the Soviets invaded???

There were billions upon billions they paid for arms to the US and the UK....

Which would mean, the Houthis have not really tested themselves against any primary invading force of the Saudis... I find it very odd that all these people who were captured seemed like they got hold of anyone who could carry the weight of an AK and lobbed them over the border at the Houthis.

Maybe these incursions are a ruse to study the fighting patterns of the Houthis or wear them down or create a ruse for the main SA army (maybe with a western/ME coalition) to invade Yemen OR All of the above. If they do choose to invade Yemen, it might trigger a conflagration that can lead all the way up to a direct conflict with Iran.

Lets wait and watch to see how this all plays out.

Agreed. Even a chum chum Kashmiri newbie jihadi will fire for sometime. But these cucks despite moving in a secured and heavily armed convoy surrendered within moments of panic. No sign of muscle memory.

Let's wait till they release them all.
We'll get to know wat went wrong and more importantly their nature- regular or militia.

Saudi Army National Guard, elite praetorian unit display the full extent of their skills with the choicest of FN firearms like FN Five-seven, FN SCAR-L, FN P90. (2017)

This level of retardation is to be seen to be believed!

This piece by TWZ describes just how badly trained and motivated the SANG forces are.

It's a safe bet to say that our regular CRPF battalions would slaughter these guys if not for air support.
That's an elite unit, ffs.. What's wrong with these guys?

Full scale rout of Saudi forces happening!

Territory of border areas with Yemen captured!

Saudis throw in the towel! Sue for peace talks with Iran! End of Yemen War in sight!

Masterfully played by Iran! Now they have a Shia puppet regime in Iraq, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza and an ally in Yemen!

Meanwhile Israel is stuck in coalition formation, UAE ruler has lost prestige due to runaway wife and MBS has UN scrutiny on his image.

Qassem uncleji ko BJP ke planning committee mein daalo!

- Laziness
- Bad training
- Zero intelligence gathering
- Mix & match of non-motivated soldiers and mercenaries
- Fear for life
- Poor quality officer cadre
First reason is -> "Being a Paki who have SURRENDER in their DNA"
The News SHOULD read -> Paki ARMY SURRENDERS YET again. :basanti:

Something like below from TOI... :pound::pound::pound:

Houthis claim heavy casualties on former Pakistan Army chief Raheel Sharif-led forces

Saudis can't even fight a war by themselves and hire mercenaries from a country of surrender aka Pakistan. Seems like other than Petro $$$ they have lost balls to fight their own war. Even after spending 67 Billion(almost 9% of GDP) and being 3rd largest defense spender they are losing to rag tag Shia Houthis. Recently Houthis attacked Saudi backbone aka biggest OIL refinery in the world of ARAMCO and now this massive surrender.

Our esteemed Terrorist Paki Panel: @Neo @Raja.pakistani @Zarvan @musalman @Zulfiqar Khan

Oye kitthe mar gaye Pakjabis??? Kuch bolo ab... you are surrendering even before ill-equipped rag tag Shia Houthis. You can only kill unarmed Baloch, Sindhi, Pakhtun and Kashmiris.... Kayak Ki kaum = Pakjabis.
