No. The AMRAAM AIM-120C5 is said to have a Maximum range of 105-110 kms atleast and not 100 only and the NEZ of a missile like Mica is 30kms which is similar to the AIM-120C5/C7 etc so I would conclude by saying that AIM-120C5 has a maximum range of 105-110 and an NEZ of 30Kms.
NEZ of MICA is less than 30km. So is AMRAAM C7.
30km is maybe possible for AMRAAM D....

As already said, the max range is very theorical : fired from a plane at what altitude?, at what speed?, range mesured when the missile at the end of its semi ballistical trajectory reach the ground? (ie with nearly no energy left, meaning no capacity to move to a even slow moving target.)

AIM-120 D has a range of 160 kms. So we say that its NEZ is around 45-50+ kms. 30 kms is not possible. AIM-120C5 I would estimate to have a NEZ of 25-30 kms as it has a range of 105-110kms.

Coming to maximum range of any BVR missile than the maximum range of any BVR can be exploited fully only when it is fired from a high altitude. More the Altitude= more the range/ less the the Altitude = less the range.

sure not.

There is no mathematical link between max range (a totally useless data because in this case it is no more a missile but a rocket...) and NEZ.

Meteor and AMRAAM are in the same weight class, in the 160kg.
Meteor has not to carry its oxidizer (air breathing), and has a NEZ of 60km (some rumors in France said that the max range, without any NEZ consideration, is in the 300km....)
How do you want that a classical engine AMRAAM has a 50+ km nez when it has to carry fuel AND oxidizer ?
AMRAAM D, at best, has a 30 to 40km NZ.

Defence Ministry seals deal to buy indigenous missiles for IAF, Navy
o boost indigenous production of military equipment, the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday placed the first order for India-made air-launched missile to be fitted onto fighter jets of the Indian Air Force and Navy.

A contract was signed with public sector giant Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) for supply of “Astra” MK-I beyond visual range (BVR) air-to-air missiles and associated equipment for the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy at a cost of Rs 2,971 crore, the MoD said.

The IAF has integrated the “Astra” missile with the Sukhoi-30 MKI jet and is in the process of mating it with the Light Combat aircraft the Tejas. The Navy flies the Russian-origin MiG 29K jet and the missiles are being adapted for the same. Each plane has a separate launch mechanism.

The Astra can hit an aerial target 140 km away, meaning in case of a close combat with enemy — like the one post the Balakot air strikes in February 2019 — the IAF can launch the “Astra”.

Till now, the technology to manufacture missile of this class indigenously was not available and the Astra has been indigenously designed and developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) based on the requirements issued by the IAF for such a class of missiles reducing the dependency on foreign sources.

Air-to-air missile with BVR capability provides large stand-off ranges to own fighter aircraft, which can neutralise the adversary aircraft without exposing themselves to adversary air defence measures

“This missile is technologically and economically superior to many such imported missile systems,” the MoD claimed.

The transfer of technology from DRDO to BDL for production of Astra and all associated systems has been completed and production at BDL is in progress.

Around 41- 45 F-16s were upgraded by Turkey for PAF apart from 18 Blk 52s they got from America.

There are chances they will be able to get aide of second hand F-16s from ME nation later.

So F-16 will remain the key fighter they will move around for atleast next 2 decade.

J-10 on the other hand provides them with capability they never had before.

For IAF it essentially means Tejas mk2 needs to have advanced Uttam AESA and able to carry SFDR etc to have a clear advantage .

With The ‘Devil’ Behind, India’s Fastest Missile ‘Astra’ Can Down Enemy Jets At Almost Hypersonic Speeds
And Russia, US, China use hypersonic ones. All bvr missile having 4.5 mach capability, and some with mach 5/5 +.

1. normally so called 4.5mach speed is the top/Max speed...when the rocket motor burn out , the most BVR missiles could reach this TOP speed, then the unpowered deceleration begins, that '4.5mach' thing is just a instantaneous velocity ...the two/multi pulse rocket motor powered missile could reach the top speed again when another pulse is ignited. we might have to introduce the average speed here (speed=kinetic energy) which might be much slower.

2. Metero is something like a cruise missile with an engine always on(then other MRAAM might be considered as the ballistic one roughly). so its top speed is not that high but the average/cruising speed is very considerable. it looks like that it could keep the high-energy state BUT the air-breathing layout also limits the maneuverability . the claimed NEZ actually is Debatable...

3. the so called super long range AA(or Surface to Air) missile concepts did exist...we might see something powered by a giant rocket or scramjet engine. but you might have to understand: for a hypersonic missile ,it flies at an over 5 mach speed during the most of the flight. at present those commissioned BVR missiles' average speed might be near/around 3 mach only.

BTW , the export varient of PL-15 MRAAM - PL-15E claimed a Max engage range of 145km.
AIM-120D seems to still have the 'dual thrust rocket motor' (not dual pulse), then that range thing is also Debatable.
