Russia just gave the US another Ukraine. For someone playing such smart politics on a global scale, Vladimir Putin was dumb to not give lethal weapons to the Armenians that can weaken Baku. A few well-placed Yakhonts against their Caspian oil rigs would have brought Azerbaijan's economy to a crashing halt, driven oil prices higher, and forced Turkey to step back since it would be Russia's warning.

Somewhat similar to what the Hindus & we in India have done in the past.

Armenia should lick its wounds, dig in, and develop an Israeli mentality. They will need to slowly recapture. This would mean resorting to unconventional warfare against Azerbaijan using the conventional Abrahamic tactics of salami-slicing.

This would not be a population issue given that the Armenian population has declined for the last 3 decades. There are entire towns where Armenian men have left for other countries, leaving their women and families behind.

I don't think so out involvement in Armenia was anything more than opputunistic arms sales. The defence budget of Azerbaijan is larger than Armenian national budget. So I doubt mea was ever so foolish to belive that Armenia will hold.

We have just sent out defense liaison to Armenia, we planned for the corridor through Armenia. Indian MEA's best hopes probably that these clowns don't go into full mad mode and burn their relations with Russia beyond repair. With each passing day, things will detieorate only.
