Is there a possibility that Indian Army will develop liking to it? They should in view of poor performance of T-90 in Ukraine.

The T-90 has been thoroughly abused by the Western analyst In the Ukraine war. May be the incompetent Russian had lost touch with real life battlefield or the West had better ATGMs which knocked the T-90 out in bundles? Truthfully it is highly mobile and missile firing tank which outclasses many other designs. But bad press gives the tank men inside the tank heading to the battle field a bit of a disadvantage. Brave men at the tip of the spear need all the high morale and better equipment. In case, if Arjun is better then use Arjun.

Who will convince the Indian Army trial and procurement jokers!

May be, may be not.
As we're also leaning towards the light tank concept, it can't be predicted what the next move would be with Arjun.
missile firing tank
Nope; it's been decades since Russians have lost this trick of launching missiles.

LAHAT can be launched from any tank currently in service; even 105mm recoilless rifles can fire LAHAT.
highly mobile
So are most of the modern tanks. Even 65t Merkavas can be highly mobile despite being a defensive tank.
outclasses many other designs
Only time and Oryx can answer this question

There is a propaganda on to prove that the Arjun Tank (newest version) is heavy hence bad. It is visible in this forum itself with post of anti Arjun Tank people.

‘’It is a good tank; in the same league as Leopard, challenger and Merkava. Rather it was designed by Leopard tank chief designer. All the faults which the No goers point out are Tank lobbies from abroad (both Russians as well as London based lobbyists). Six tons of its weight extra is due to explosive reactive armour, front anti mine fork/spade and a host of other items added at the behest of the Army; who rejected on account of its weight.

It fires all kinds of ammunition including Israeli Lahat and has protection far superior to T-90. It has 360 view as well as thermal view for the tank commanders. The T-90 has received a bad press in Ukraine when incompetent Russian army generals exposed them to ATGMs. They knew well enough to the destructive power of ATGMs but still went ahead in the open and exposed them to ATGMs.

One additional anti Arjun propaganda on top of its weight is its price. In fact that when sufficient quantities of Arjun are ordered then the price will come down.

My point is that the Indian Army is dealing miserably with India made hardware. They have dealt an almost a deathly blow to locally made artillery gun until the politicians told them not to. They are about to do the same with newest Arjun tank. I believe the politician have to say cease and desist.

Well you yourself mentioned what's the problem; only weight and price are propaganda.

What about rifled gun?
Or the armour around the cupola?
The armour behind the sights?
What about the lack of sufficient APFSDS?

Are these also propaganda?

Karn and Lonewarrior have posted again about the weaknesses of the Arjun tank. These one or the other are present in all the tanks. You guys don’t have to wait long as some of these western tanks are making an appearance in a real battle condition in Ukraine. In six months we will know how these tanks perform. Before that, it was theory from glossy brochures.

For a second, let's assume the that the only reason why Indian Army doesn't induct locally made hardware is solely because of their love for foreign ones and not any shortcomings.

I'll just ask you one very simple question.
Recently Norway selected Leo over K2 for their next tank. Why didn't they selected Arjun if it's so good and par with contemporaries?

Why so much emphasis on this "western" word sir!
So much hype was there for Russian air-defence system and now see how Tors and Pantsirs are getting fcuked left and right each day. So much was said about Russian tanks being fast, agile, smaller silhouetted, soft kill APS, hard kill APS and what not...and as of now there is not a single modern Russian tank that guarantees cook-off prevention.

Don't forget a rifled gun scored the longest anti-tank kill by a tank and where you can get thermobaric tank ammunition other than Arjun, all most all rusi tank cupolas we saw how they are cooked out..by Javelin and stuguna

Irrelevant point as our current APFSDS offers just 600mm pen at 2km. So even if you have sub-MoA accuracy beyond 2km it won't make much sense as you'd losing your penetration.

where you can get thermobaric tank ammunition
No thermobaric ammunition is used on any tank, nor they can ever be used.
Tanks are fielded with only two kinds of ammunitions. Primary ammo which are APFSDS and secondary ammo which are HE/HEAT. Though in some cases they can carry few rounds of special ammunitions like ATGMs or canister or HESH.
Other than that, nothing.

BS arguments…. Wait six months and watch if Leopard, Challenger, AbraMs succeed.

Then what about thermobaric ammunition offered along with current Arjun MK-1 A order?

I've no idea mate, the only thing I know is how things are supposed to work.

To make a thermobaric warhead you need to keep the shell as thin as possible; sometimes it can be even few millimetres thick and that too of some soft material like aluminium. The reason behind is to make the dispersion of fuel as efficient as possible.

Now you ask yourself if you shoot a tank with a shell that's 3mm thick aluminium; what'll be the results?
