The scientist gave some hints - 2 man crew. Also video revealed how as usual geni-ass army generals want to fuk it up by wanting 4 man crew ( with a unmanned turret )
So they want a 4 man crew and an unmanned turret? Lol 4 more men and this would turn into a tank/apc. Don't be surprised if they asked the designers to squeeze in four more.

Also Israeli APS worked well against Hezbollah atgms.. But, not sure how well it would work, against a serious nation state adversary, where the performance of the AESA radar might be degraded due to Electronic warfare..
They worked because Hezbollah simply didn't have the resources or the coordination necessary to overwhelm the system.

So?.. Mark1A orders got placed, there are supposed to be obligatory articles on how India is holding "secret talks" with Russia to buy T-14 as confirmed by their "secret sources".

Few points on the tank fleet in India:

1> Arjun Mk 1A order is a good move. This opportunity should be well used to modernise HVT Avadi and root out some of the deadwood within the OFB. Another 118 tank order should not be discounted by putting pressure on the army.
2> Arjun Mk1 should go for upgrades as well.
3> T-90 tanks have major obsolescence issues. We should go for upgrades with Russia here in a 3-way approach via HVF, Pvt sector within India, and the Russian tank factory as well. Batches of 60 tanks each can be upgraded by each player to the latest T-90 standard to begin with. It'll ensure that 180 tanks are parallel upgraded in one go. We of course must ensure that domestic systems are used on the T-90 upgrade as much as possible. Whether those are night sights, Kanchan armour, etc is for the military brass to decide. But pressure from MoD must be relentless on this.
4> T-72s are obsolete. But we must keep them unfortunately for another decade before a phased withdrawal. To that effect we can donate the oldest lots to Afghanistan perhaps, and upgrade the newest 500-800 to the latest standards in house.
5> Fitting an APS on tanks should be mandatory. Whether its Israeli or Russian or Indian we need to see depending on timeline and cost.
6> Development of Arjun Mk2 should go on in mission mode similar to LCA Mk2. In one sense our GJ-RJ borders should be saturated with heavy Arjuns whereas for the soft soil of Punjab the T-90Ms would do well.
7> Introduction of modern capabilities should be pursued in tanks whether as ab-initio development or as upgrades. These could be SDRs (mandatory), BMS (mandatory), cannon launched loitering munitions, ability to interface with armed and unarmed UAVs, ability to interface with helicopters, etc.

T-90's upgrade should be our priority.

Even with future introduction of Arjun mk2 and FRCV (or FMBT), there exists a place for upgraded T-90S and a fraction of T-72 CIAs. These tanks are needed to make make up numbers along LAC.

On LAC there is also a place for Kestrel with a tank turret. We should actively pursue this IMO.

Yes... Apparently the Army (rightfully so) insisted the tank is too crude & they renamed it to Mark1A until the redesigned, reengineered Mark2 is tested & certified.

Atleast the tech is ready & operational 😐
too crude??

Any facts to support the claim?

Arjun mk2 is just going to be Arjun mk1A with missile firing through main gun, nothing more to be added as far as I know

Weight is the function of GSQR
