Come again??
Not the LFP, it wouldn't.............. rest assured!!

Not the same design version apparently...They could at least remove the crew hatches in the turret. And no composite armor to be seen in the LFP while the crew is to be positioned inside the hull. @Bleh
It seems they just took the Arjun hull and slapped a LeClerc/K2 inspired turret on it. I hope they do not follow through with this design. Yours is a lot better. Not the same design apparently...
That one looks like this internally (ignore my armour doodling )
No hull is different count the no. Of wheels. It seems they just took the Arjun hull and slapped a LeClerc/K2 inspired turret on it. I hope they do not follow through with this design. Yours is a lot better.
This is how I would go about it -

Irrelevant, cause I was specifically talking about the armor layout, I should've been more clear, so my bad.No hull is different count the no. Of wheels.
That's a maintenance hatch and no, it's in no way more exposed and vulnerable than the one shown in that supposedly preliminary design concept art of the FMBT. And it's insane to compare the two since, in that DRDO art, the hatches are clearly intended to be crew hatches. It happened likely because they just copied the turret design of a LeClerc/K2 and slapped it on a shortened Arjun hull with a modified engine deck. The same thing they did with the Arjun - looked at some photographs of the Leopard 2A4 and went on to copy the design without giving it the due consideration and hence we find ourselves in this fix.
If it's just 100mm then you can bet your last penny on it being a simple RHA plate.@ArgonPrime that don't show any of the composite armour, just the inner plates below, but lower glacis is about 100mm thick & there's a layer of something between the two plates.
Arjun's LFP should become like this I think. Should be achievable without drastic weight increase, but by opening up the lower parts a bit.

Man, I don't think that's gonna dissipate anything worth noting but what can I say?? Our agencies seem to work as composite armor needs some space and heft in order to work (you know that already, I know) in mysterious ways sometimes. No he means the layout.
@ArgonPrime That's exactly what they originally did.
Bhe above cross-sections are actually an older ones... I later adjusyed that once I found a high definition photo of the 3D CAD of NGMBT.
Now they match better...

BTW Arjun's LFP is indeed a sandwiched layer between two plates meant to dissipate HEAT jet. I heard it in an interview.
Even the plate on frontal side-skirt are that composite plate in Mark1.
They been working on one with EFP warheads for sometime now.Has DRDO developed any APS yet ?
Heck yeah.Fuck it!.. As long as they learnt to use wet stowage & compartmentalised vault & lower blowoff panels & fire-proof propellent charge, I'll call it progress.
Now this I'm looking forward to...

There's a soft-kill APS presently.Has DRDO developed any APS yet ?
I think the Soviet Shtora system had a similar arrangement, didn't it??There's a soft-kill APS presently.

When that sensor detects lazing from a tank's laser-rangefinder or an ATGM's laser-guidance system, that smoke grenade launcher mounted on rotating platform turns & lobbs.
That smokescreen cuts off line-of-sight & barrs the enemy from achieving firing solution on the Arjun.
Is a neat little improvisation.
No that one works differently.I think the Soviet Shtora system had a similar arrangement, didn't it??
I see, it's a good thing then that we didn't choose to have it installed in our T-90S then, sounds more hassle than they're worth. No that one works differently. On laser detection you are to turn the whole bloody turret to present the front armour at the threat & it'll dazzle the laser beam's receiver (an ATGM's seeker usually)... Smokescreen is commander's call, T-80/90 can only lob at frontal arc.
I just hope his info is correct. PKS can be hit or miss although he seems to score hit more often than others.MY BRIDAARS FEAST YOUR EYES
PKS:That news-report has erroneous data. For instance, the last order pertains to the Arjun Mk.1A, meaning no more Mk.1As will be ordered after the order for the 118 units. Instead, ther Mk.2 will be ordered as its seven pre-production units have already commenced developmental mobility-cum-firepower trials. The Mk.2s will each be built with High Nitrogen Steel, which will reduce their weight from 67.5 tonnes to 62 tonnes. In addition, the powerpack will include a 1,500hp Cummins diesel engine. Consequently, the Mk.2’s power-to-weight ratio will increase from the existing 18hp/tonne to a healthy 25hp/tonne, thereby providing excellent mobility parameters over all kinds of terrain at all altitudes. The cannon will be a smoothbore 120mm one, fed by an autoloader. Hence, up to 250 Arjun Mk2s will be ordered in future. The 464 T-90S MBTs to be licence-built at HVF Avadi too will have an uprated 1,300hp diesel engine from Russia, which too will increase the power-to-weight ratio of the T-90S to 25hp/tonne. 2, 3 & 4) As I have just explained, the reduced weight & increased power-to-weight ratio of Arjun Mk.2 will enable it to be operated over all kinds of terrain at all kinds of altitude. The same goes for the T-90S powered by 1,300hp diesel engine. Consequently, there remains no need at all for any kind of light tank. ‘Desi’ patrakaars’ who are unaware of such technical details are therefore always groping in the dark & engaging in needless speculation.
le me after 120MM SMOOTHBORE AND WEIGHT:

however as u said ihve doubt whether its 125mm smoothbore or 120mm??I just hope his info is correct. PKS can be hit or miss although he seems to score hit more often than others.
I hope they go with 120, that way we would be able to import ammunition from NATO countries.however as u said ihve doubt whether its 125mm smoothbore or 120mm??
why so? i heard some people saying 120mm>125mm.I hope they go with 120, that way we would be able to import rounds from NATO countries.
dude, I said I hope they use a 120mm gun, take another look!!
i get it, but while visiting a forum a year back i heard memebers speaking 120mm has some advantage over 125mmdude, I said I hope they use a 120mm gun, take another look!!
