Unknown & variable. Thanks for that. And with a load of large weapons that increases by 25%/50%/75%/100%/more?
advantages to being non-stealthy?Unknown & variable.
Although, stealthy drop-tanks are possible, with radar absorbant skin. Same goes for external weapons pod... Plus stealth isn't independent of EW. A good active jammer can negate the radar reflections, escort jammers can supress the radars etc. Being low observable is just an advantage.
There's several advantages to being non-stealthy as well.
A defence channel either aplha defence or defence decode (can't remember) suggested it might be 2 or 2.5 at beast mode. Thanks for that. And with a load of large weapons that increases by 25%/50%/75%/100%/more?
actually stealth jet is like bazooka and 4.5 and 4th gen gen is like assualt rifles with grenedes and pistols ,you need all of them carrying bazooka to kill a single soldier is foolishadvantages to being non-stealthy?
Any fighter jet scenario example?actually stealth jet is like bazooka and 4.5 and 4th gen gen is like assualt rifles with grenedes and pistols ,you need all of them carrying bazooka to kill a single soldier is foolish
Yes it was visible during Balakot, the Flankers with their huge RCS were detected first and the PAF was expecting only Flankers, then after a few moments the Low RCS Mirage-2000 appeared on their radar suddenly out of nowhere and they bombed the hell out of PAF. ASAP.Unknown & variable.

Tactical options.Any fighter jet scenario example?
5th generation is like special forces and 4th generation is like infantry.actually stealth jet is like bazooka and 4.5 and 4th gen gen is like assualt rifles with grenedes and pistols ,you need all of them carrying bazooka to kill a single soldier is foolish
Both scenarios can be accommodated by signature generator UAVs. Not sure what all is developed in that field but it doesn't seem like anything we need fighter jet for. I think 4 and 4.5 gen tech is more preferred because of higher availability, low cost and more armaments it can carry. These should become less of a factor as we improve on tech and mass production but that is still at least 15 20 years away.Tactical... Options...
@FalconSlayers gave an example on how enemy's attention can be drawn to distract & confuse... Especially by combined use of observable & low observable platforms.
Other than that, UAVs can mimic rada-signatures of fighter jets to be used as decoys to make enemy expend their SAMs. Also, in case you're equipped with jammers that can feed enemy radar incorrect postion, the enemy will waste their limited BVR load on false targets while keeping them busy.

One Israeli case from 2018 or 19 I read, had their F-16 switched on escort-jammer & vanished from radar, then simply returned to base... The panicked Syrians spent the next 30 minutes searching their probable flight paths, while an actual strike package hit a seperate target from another direction, detected far too late.
Stealth is just a piece in the game, not invincible either... There are other pieces with their own moves.
BTW a recent drone named "abhaya" in aero 2021 can be used for deceptive radar signature to misdirect samBoth scenarios can be accommodated by signature generator UAVs. we will most probably get GaN Based jammer pods soon ,radar might take some timeAnyone following IAF procurements for this long should very well know they don't skimp on technologies. All won't be out but DAS aggregation will surely be there .
One interesting thing found while going through LRDE products :
Search GaN based TRM. We have those already. Not developed for aesa i guess but.
GaN AESA by 2030 is not a big deal. Uttam AESA is going to be in production by 2025 which leave less of an issue for GaN to be production ready with AMCA MK1.we will most probably get GaN Based jammer pods soon ,radar might take some time
i hope of getting Gan Jammer on Tejas mk2 (production model)GaN AESA by 2030 is not a big deal. Uttam AESA is going to be in production by 2025 which leave less of an issue for GaN to be production ready with AMCA MK1.
At start can't say but if order is of 170 then by the end it can very well be there.i hope of getting Gan Jammer on Tejas mk2 (production model)
Yes, it seems. It's not super stealthy & stuff... You can tell just be looking at it. Bit unclear whether they actually aimed for less or later on adjusted the target top more achievable levels like we did with AMCA, splitting it into Mark 1 & 2. Indonesia has essentially pulled out & they had to ditch the IWB (early concept was shown with one, there was even a canarded version planned). Originally they signed a $1.3B joint deal in 2015, but cost kept mounting.
Is this true? KF-X was to be developed as 4.5 gen or stealth parameters are not met so news flown like this now?
