F35 First flight 2006, First production 2011
J20 First flight 2011, First production 2017
T50 First flight 2010, First production (???)

All 5th gens so far except T50 have about a 6-7 year gap between the first prototype test flight and the first production model being completed.

If AMCA production date is 2028, maybe we will see a prototype soon?
T50 project is cash strapped. I don't think same will happen to AMCA, but we'll see. Has the project been sanctioned yet?

CCS may sanction it by the end of 2020
It is going to be sanctioned by December, just give the damn Tejas MK1A orders. One question... Why tf is Tejas MK1A not going to have a large area display and DSI? I mean wtf? Why is it even made then?

To create an eco-system for manufacturing a 4+ generation plane and thereafter ramp it up to 4.5, 5 and so on.

Is possible if a private player is leading the development and that includes research,production and manufacturing of initial prototypes.
This private player introduction will lead to early induction talks are crap, just fyi...

The average of this data is (14+17+15+14+15)/5 = 15 years at least.
Even if we make first flight in 2025, it won’t be inducted before 2040.

AMCA: The final Design revisions shows major changes



Upcoming changes and the final design revisions seem to have been frozen for the development and manufacturing of India’s 5.5th generation AMCA fighter jet that will be confirmed at the upcoming Aero India 2021 and noticeable design changes can be seen which defers from previous official design rendering showcased and made available to the Public as the program gains momentum and is entering final stages of securing official funding for the Phase-I of the program. Nodal design agency Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) had confirmed the adaption of the Diverterless Supersonic Inlet (DSI) air inlet design principle to reduce weight and also lowers the frontal radar cross-section (RCS) and the same can be seen in the above image. DSI has been adapted to increases the performance of the aircraft and also make it more Maintenance friendly. Other noticeable design changes are the forward-swept intake cowl and the smooth hump blended surface between the intake and the fuselage to reduce exposure to radar waves. In the latest design revision of the AMCA, also can be seen are large horizontal tails for Low wave drag. Engine position has been moved further in for a better rear thermal reduction and also keeps space for a new upgraded 110kN Thrust engine for the Mk-2 variant since it might come with a thrust-vectoring nozzle module. The internal carriage design of AMCA has been further improved. The main landing gear has also been moved further.

dont worry brother with 3D TVC this thing will be maneuverable than F22 , and will have stealth features similar like F35 , avionics similar or better than F35( at least that is the plan )
3D TVC will come only with a new engine right? 1st few squadrons will come with F414.

We need to speed up else its useless to think about it. We are super slow.
