I also noticed the same aggressive wing swept. I wonder if they modify it further as they did with LCA for vortex. For single weapon bay, I don't think it has that much space 🤔 as it is smaller than F-22 and J-20.

It has Serpentine DSI intakes.
Little correction I was trying to say side weapon bay.

That's with added external load of 5t. Can't reach 29 ton with only internals.
I meant, If it can carry 29ton then why don't ADA add some more internal space for more weapons. Being 29 tons jet and carrying only 2 bombs or 4 missiles. it sounds underuse of a machine. ADA must add side weapon way for IR missiles or creat little more space underbelly.

I suppose because its not good for aerodynamics if it looks like a penguin.

It's basically F-18 sized, not big enough to carry tons internally. And precision strike missions requiring stealth won't take a lot of payload probably.

I am cross-posting this here to attract attention.

This is one of the biggest Indian defence news of 2020. But, unfortunately, our news media has not noticed this yet.

I am humbly requesting all of you to share this as far as possible on social media.👇
Indian Air Force chief formally announces the development of sixth generation systems for the future

Today, history has been made.

For the first time, IAF has formally announced the development of 6th generation fighter systems during today’s Air Force Day parade a few hours ago.

IAF chief said:

For the future, we have initiated processes for developing indigenous combat systems with sixth generation technologies, including directed energy weapons, smart wingman concept, optionally manned combat platforms, swarm drones, hypersonic weapons, to name a few.

Note: this most probably does NOT refer to the AMCA Mark-2 because the chief mentioned fifth-generation project separately.

Listen from 1:13:20 onwards in this video👇

Don't worry we will match America by 2050 in all aspects.
America had two world wars to shape it's militray and ever since they have participated in every war directly or indirectly.

$1.5trillion project F-35 is definitely ahead. MAWS & DIRCM should be available by AMCA Mark1 or 2.
EW tech has moved forward. Jammers, towed decoys, unmanned wingman, swarm drones etc. 6th gen standard tech are undergoing maturity.
The reasons you are giving hold true for Stealth and Supercruise too.
I was just pointing out that it should be 'Stealth, Supercruise, Sensors' S³.

You can say that I guess.

Actually AMCA's RCS might match F-22. No way to tell right now.

Supercruise is simply because of 65kN dry thrust of F414 is bit less... it'll need 70-75kN. It might get limited supercruise, ie, use afterburner/altitude to speed up & then maintain it for sometime.

So sensors is where well need to do the most catching up actually.

Sweden and Israel invest far more than India on R&D as a percentage of GDP. India has other developmental priorities. However, once India achieves middle-income status, it will be able to focus resources on R&D as well.

India has already lost the largest-importer tag; it’s now the second-largest importer.
In fact, roughly 88-89% of our naval ships are made-in-India as of 2020 notwithstanding foreign components (if I remember correctly). By 2030, I can confidently say that the India will be able to source almost all of its Navy indigenously.

Let’s consider an example.

Just about 30 years ago, Sweden and Israel would’ve also shamed China. But what’s the situation now?! China has advanced so far that its on the verge of rivalling the US! The Pentagon has admitted in its 2020 annual report that China is already ahead of the US in some areas and will seek to surpass the US by 2050. James E. Fanell, a former top US military intelligence officer, estimates that China may “achieve sea control in the global maritime commons as early as 2030, and potentially even sea superiority by 2049”.

So my question to you is: how did China go from having a primitive military in 1990 to a modern military which challenges the US in 2020? The answer may sound simplistic but that’s the crux if it: a blitzkrieg of economic growth.

India has a population similar to China’s, and both of them are not very different in terms of national resources (I won’t elaborate this in this thread, we’ll save this for another day). Therefore, India has the potential to rival China in terms of Gross National Power. In fact, India is the only country which has the potential to surpass China in the long term. And if you’re wondering, the US is likely to loose its number-1 status just like Britain, if history is a guide. The US appears likely to slide to number-3.

Let’s continue this discussion on another thread because it’s deviating from AMCA.
We became 2nd because Saudi Arabia increased the imports, not because we decreased it.
