When a jet can sustain a supersonic speed for a longer duration without using reheat/afterburner, or with using minimum fuel consumption than it is said to be supercruise.
Fifth generation jets loose their aerodynamic structure to attain their stealth which increases drag. So that is why, an aerodynamic structure use less thurst to attain a definite speed in Comparison to fífth generation jet.
but that not the problem i have . every one using the max thrust to define the super cruise abality but that not the right way two engien of diffrernyt o/p thrust can have same dry thrust and that thrust matter(Eurojet EJ200 60/90 kn-- ge f414 58+/98 kn )

You're slightly confused between supersonic & supercruise.
Supersonic is traveling in dry air of a temperature of 20 °C (68 °F) at sea level, this speed is approximately 343 m/s, 1,125 ft/s, 768 mph, 667 knots, or 1,235 km/h .
Most of the jets should turn on their afterburners to cross this limit , than it is known as supersonic.
But one who attain supersonic without using reheat/afterburner than it is said to be supercruise.
Cruising speed is a speed for a particular vehicle, ship, or aircraft, usually somewhat below maximum, that is comfortable and economical.

Cruising speed at supersonic = supercruise

Its dry thurst with supersonic speed = supercruise (in simple terms)
Supercruise basically depends on the aerodynamics. More aerodynamic jet need less thurst to attain supersonic and vice versa.
Kaveri GTX also possess quite similar figures of 52/95+KN.

India/ADA should fastrack AMCA development by producing a prototype ASAP with GE's F414-GE-INS6 engine with 58/98Kn thrust as baseline engine till the arrival of its definitive 110 Kn thrust class (safranised kaberi or an uprated F414). Russia is producing T50 pakfa/su57 protptype with an underpowered AL41 engine until the arrival of its definitive turbofan Izdeliye-30, even the Chinese are doing the same with AL31 engine for its J20. Could India produce F22/35 type of VLO aircraft at one go?!!! India will face the consequences of dragging its feet in this area also.

The real challenge of any plane is not in airframe but in other components like stealth, sensors, radars (AESA), BVR, avionics and most importantly, engine.

A plane is designed around an engine and AMCA needs at least 60/90kN and preferably 65/100kN or above like 72/110kN engines.

I got a news that defence ministry have released full development funding of 8-10 billion $ for AMCA development with 2023 as target for first flight.
This may also mean that FGFA has been shelved completely. Unless Russia offers something really special ToT, FGFA is finished

well that a very very good news 8-10 billion $ for complete development seem to be quite generous (going by the track record)...:biggrin2::india::balleballe::cool1:

i don't think and i wish, it not happen as FGFA is a different class for different role................

Confirmed News:
No further funds are released for AMCA development in recent day till today.
A day ago, there was a discussion held for AMCA, and the outcome is, as soon as AMCA cleared the stealth tests on 1:1 scale model ( which is near to be completion) the full scale development will be supported & allocated fund will be released.

And yes, the timeline for the first flight is selected in 2023-24 and FOC by 2027-28.

stay tuned for updates..

Good Day

FGFA will be there by late 2020 or early 2021 and as per the discussions held, the AMCA will use the several techs from FGFA.
That is an excellent idea - getting FGFA technology for AMCA. Both are stealth fighters after all. But that will be known only after ToT will be discussed and agreed upon for FGFA

We need stealth and 3d thrust vectoring technology from Russia....we will get engines from France and rest of the technologies are available in India and Israel.

so first flight is around 2023-24 , have any idea about engine it going to use .. since we have good 7-8 year for first flight and 10-12 year for foc .....

First flight is always done on tested engines like F414. It is likely that first few flights and prototypes will run on F414 engines. This is done so as to be able to reduce the sources of problems caused, if any. Having tested engine rules out the engine from Causing any problems. Whatever problems in the prototypes or first flight is seen will be only due to the plane itself.

The whole point of AMCA or Tejas is to have indigenous manufacturing of planes. So, an indigenous engine is a must. AMCA will eventually become 100% indigenous, including engines. It will either use K9 or K10 engine, depending on which is available or better

There will be twin F414 for maiden taxi trials in 2020-21 for sure but can't confirm for first flight. If Kaveri GTX will get matured enough than they may opt to use them for first flight.
