😁😅

No I read something about high-yield incendiary warhead that heat up the metal to several hundred degrees... Under development probably, but meant to effectively bypass armour protection.

Pakistan Selects Slovakian Turra 30 Combat Module for Locally-made Infantry Vehicle
Pakistan has selected the Slovakian-made Turra 30 combat module for its Viper infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) being developed by local firm, Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).

HIT unveiled a prototype of Viper IFV at the IDEAS 2018 held in Karachi. The company is currently developing the new Viper IFV under license to replace its ageing M113 armored personnel carrier (APC). The Viper IFV retains lengthened chassis from the M113 APCs but has an additional road wheel and is protected by appliqué armour.

It has been fitted with modified Turra 30 remotely controlled weapon station (RCWS) armed with Slovakian Shipunov 30mm automatic cannon, Kalashnikov PKT 7.62 mm medium machine gun (MG), two ready-to-use 9M113 Konkurs (AT-6 'Spandrel') anti-tank guided missiles and smoke dischargers. The Konkurs missiles and Kalashnikov MG, Janes reported quoting an unnamed source from HIT as saying Thursday.

Pakistan chose Slovakian Turra 30 over Ukrainian BM-7 Parus combat module. HIT held comprehensive trials of the Ukrainian Parus module before rejecting it, TASS reported quoting an unnamed source as saying Thursday.

"The BM-7 remote-controlled combat module has failed to meet the requirements of the Pakistani army both by its quality and its price," the source said.

Pakistan's military might on display at IDEAS 2018
The tenth International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) opened on November 27 in Karachi with major participation from some of the biggest names in the global defence industry.

The highlight of the exhibition though remained weapons produced by domestic manufacturers as they showcased some of the latest systems inducted by the Pakistani armed forces or currently undergoing trials.

Viper IFV

The Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) manufactured Viper infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) was unveiled at IDEAS 2018. The tracked IFV is armed with a 30mm autocannon and Russian Kornet anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM).

Viper IFV is manned by a three-man crew comprising a driver, gunner and a commander. Capable of transporting nine troops, the IFV can engage all manner of ground targets including main battle tanks. The 30mm gun in the remote-controlled turret can make short work of soft vehicles and infantry while Kornet missiles give the vehicle the ability to engage heavily armoured vehicles from a standoff distance.

HIT has also incorporated multiple protective features in the vehicles. The seats are suspended in order to provide better crew and troop survivability against landmines and improvised explosive devices (IED).

The vehicle has not yet entered serial production and will undergo acceptability trials soon.

HIT Hamza

The Hamza, developed by HIT and also described as an IFV, is a mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle armed with a similar 30mm autocannon turret as the Viper.

Built on a 6x6 chassis with an optional variant in a 6x4 variant, the vehicle has a cruising range of 500km with a top speed of 110km/h. Hamza can seat nine troops and also has a crew of three.

The high ground clearance of the vehicle ensures crew and troop survivability in an IED-heavy environment. Pakistan's experience in counter-insurgency warfare shows in the latest offerings by HIT, as the Hamza also comes with suspended seats with headguards to protect troopers from the shock of an explosion either underneath the vehicle or close-by.

Really old news on projects that went nowhere... Surely don't deserve this much attention in 2020 end.

US to sell 160 MRAP vehicles to Pakistan
The US will provide 160 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles with spare and repair parts to Pakistan for an estimated cost of USD 198 million, according to a media report on Saturday.

-Islamabad: The US will provide 160 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles with spare and repair parts to Pakistan for an estimated cost of USD 198 million, according to a media report on Saturday.

The State Department's nod comes as Pakistan's military is engaged in Operation 'Zarb-i-Azb' against militants in the northwestern tribal region of North Waziristan and targeted action against insurgents in other areas, the Dawn said.

In a release, the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency yesterday said Pakistan had requested to purchase 160 Navistar MRAP vehicles, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, personnel training and equipment training, US government and contractor engineering, technical and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistical and program support.

The Agency has delivered the required certification notifying Congress of the possible sale, whose principal contractor will be Navistar Defence Corporation in Madison Heights, Michigan, the release said.

The US says there will be no adverse impact on its own defence readiness as a result of this sale, nor will the basic military balance in the region be affected, the paper said.

Instead, the sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States "by helping to improve the security of a country vital of US foreign policy and national security goals in South Asia", the paper said.

There are also no known offset agreements proposed in the connection with this potential sale, the release stated.

The US government will be required to send two government and 24 contractor representatives to Pakistan for a period of approximately 18 months to perform inspections, provide assistance, conduct training and maintain accountability of the provided material.

Reports of Pakistan's likelihood of receiving MRAP vehicles began to surface in March this year, the paper said.

Pakistani and American officials have been in discussions on the issue over several months and the latest nod from the US comes as the war in Afghanistan is winding down, it added.

Where are these beggars getting the money from to purchase all these weapon platforms? Saalon ke paas tamatar kharidney ko paise nahin hai aur inko Pantsir aur MI-35 chahiye?

Looks like they're used to eating grass as ZA Bhutto ordained.
A combination of begging, careful long term planning and taking the role of India's adversary for making profit.

I u check their small arms inventory they have a small arsenal but all of them are decent guns and all of them licensed produced 3 pistols, 1 sub machine guns, 5 Assault rifle, 4 Sniper,4 machine gun platforms. A good chunk of arms were received during Soviet Afghan war and NATO also help them in obtaining license for guns. Keeping that aside their POF has a decent reputation for producing licensed guns, they export a decent bit too African and Middle eastern countries.
They have had only two Standard Service rifle G3 and Type 56 since 1965 Till present, both of them decent platform.

Now look at us and look at them, ours is a mess.

Turkish automanufacturer BMC confirms MRAP sales to Pakistan
Speaking to the Turkish media, BMC (one of Turkey’s largest defence and civil automakers) Board Member Yasin Öztürk stated that the company’s Kirpi mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle has seen growing traction in the overseas market with 300 MRAPs sold (Milliyet).

Öztürk added that BMC has also been producing Kirpi MRAPs for Pakistan, though he did not disclose the numbers sold to or the duration of BMC’s dealings with Pakistan. However, Pakistan had been linked to possible Kirpi MRAP deals as early as 2012.

As per Army Recognition, the 4×4 BMC Kirpi utilizes a steel hull capable of providing protection from 7.62×51 mm small arms fire (STANAG 4569 Level-3) as well as grenades and land-mines under the chassis (STANAG 4569 Level-3B).

With its 370 hp engine, the Kirpi can reach a top speed of 100 km/h and a maximum range of 800 km. It can carry up to 15 fully armed personnel. It can also be armed with a remote-controlled weapon station.

The source is Paki MoDP (MoD Procurement?) report, so not very confident about its veracity. But if the Russians are really going that far, its time to start aggressive import substitution for Russian origin equipment. No need to appease them. S-400 should be our last Russian purchase.

Ukraine and Pakistan Move Forward With Armor Deal
Ukraine will supply tanks sights and overhaul the Pakistan Army’s fleet of T-80UD MBTs as part of a bilateral agreement.

Ukraine and Pakistan have started implementing a bilateral agreement for the upgrade of the Pakistan Army’s T-80UD Main Battle Tank (MBT), according to Ukrainian media reports.

Ukraine’s Interfax news agency reveals that representatives of Ukraine’s largest state-run defense contractor have met with Pakistan defense industry officials at this year’s International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi in late February and concluded a number of agreements.

According to two signed contracts, Ukraine is slated to supply 88 tank sights and kick off a pilot project for the overhaul of an initial batch of five Pakistan Army T-80UD MBTs, which, depending on Islamabad’s satisfaction with the upgrade work on the first five tanks, will extend to the army’s entire inventory of around 300 T-80UD MBTs.

Interfax reports that the implementation of the agreements has begun this month, although no details were given as to the specific timeframe of the pilot project nor a delivery date supplied for the tanks sights.

The T-80UD, an improved variant of the Soviet-made T-64 MBT, was first introduced into service with the Pakistan Army in the late 1990s in order to counter the Indian Army’s newly acquired T-90 MBT. From 1997 to 2002, Pakistan received a total of 320 tanks from Ukraine.

Unlike their Russian counterparts, the Ukrainian version is powered by a diesel engine, features a new welded turret, and is armed with the KBA3 125 millimeter smoothbore gun, a Ukrainian version of the Russian 125 millimeter 2A46M-1 cannon originally manufactured for the T-64 MBT.

Pakistan’s T-80UD tanks could be upgraded to the standards of the T-84 ‘Oplot-M’ MBT, a much improved variant of the T-84 (which in turn is an improved version of the T-80), featuring a larger turret mounting sophisticated sensors and, among other things, a panoramic thermal-imaging system.

In November 2016, Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) and Ukraine’s Ukrspecexport signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) covering prospective agreements with an approximately total worth of $600 million for the modernization of Pakistan’s tank force.

Among other things, Ukraine and Pakistan agreed to the sale of 200 Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building (KMDB) 6TD-2 engines for the Pakistan Army’s al-Khalid MBT, jointly developed by Pakistan and China in the 1990s.

The Pakistan Army currently operates around 350 al-Khalid MBTs and is expected to substantially expand its MBT force in the years ahead. According to some sources, Pakistan is working on an upgraded variant of the MBT, dubbed al-Khalid II, and plans to build as many as 600 tanks of this improved variant.

Given the recent uptick in Ukraine-Pakistan defense cooperation, Ukrainian technical support for the al-Khalid II program may appear likely.

What you guts think can VT 4 can beat indian T 90 tanks
The only Tank that I envy is in Pakistani armoured Corp is T-80UD. If money was there I would have been a safer bet for Pakistan. Maybe even moved to T-84Oplot, that would have sent shivers down Indian armoured corp units.
VT 4 no idea

With advanced Patton tanks they couldn't do anything to us. IA with centurion tanks decimated Pattons so how does they send shivers now when IA infantry is better equipped than '65.
