what they didnt buy, became AK-1 without 120 mm gun so its good for PA anyway

it appears to have a thicker frontal composite armour plating but no sign of any ERA there

There is ERA, typical Chinese design, just like on ZTZ-96 and ZTZ-99.

well i have not seen such an era on any other chinese or pakistan tank..

Now in future Pakistan can design its own tank/IFV without any other country support with majority of the components to be also sourced from local industry.may be even engine within the next decade

Really? AK is china-ukraine?

MBT-2000 was a jv between CHina and pak based off type90IIM.

under 1 decade al khalid was developed.

we have rights of exporting Al khalid to any third party.ukraine is more than willing to give us license of re export of al khalid with ukrainian engine to either KSA in the past or Sri lanka in close future.

We have the industry to design tanks now..this is the reason Al khalid II would most probably be a new tank with very little similarities with Basic AK or AK1

other than this than even the t-80ud is of russian origin so does the oplot and the rest of ukranian tanks.but you do have the export rights

they are not of ukraine origin.rather USSR.ukraine is only 2 decades older country

There are quite a few indigenous systems on AK to be precise.

*Aorak series ERA
*Onwards AK1 the locally developed Gun
*IBMS(could be exported to bangladesh aswell)
*Laser threat systems
*onwards AK1 the FCS/GCS
*Electronics for the autoloader(solid state)
*ammo
*The Basic armour is indigenous to Pakistan including the latest developed armour by AARDIC(2005?)


and many such more to mention

Most important Pakistan hold the design rights because of it being developed under Joint venture and can export it without china will or not

@Damian, the other loophole in the Pakistani trials of the Abrams is that Pakistanis claim that the tested tank had a 105 mm gun when the M1A1 had the 120 mm cannon.

Of course, there is a possibility that the Americans did not offer it.
