I want to hear your excuse on this too

There is no Excuse but do check the deal with Taiwan 18 MK-48 Mod6 Advanced Technology (AT) Heavy Weight Torpedoes (HWT) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $180 million.

With SK : 31 for 72 means around 2.3 mn a piece

With India 16 Torpedoes for 63 mn almost 4 mn a piece.

But here is one difference we don't have related infra and equipments which is include in this deal unlike SK.

Though I completely agree with you that the products are expensive. And that's where Bulk orders and negotiation comes into play as mentioned in the tweet.

For Apache bought by army being expensive. Well blame IAF and IA tussle where both are going separate ways to establish their own Sqd.

IA contract have 4 Longbows radar out of 6 helis they bought . While IAF got 11 radar out of 22 they bought and it includes weapon system too from stringer missiles hellfire etc.

Another thing I would like to mention is USA had previously told us to ink the project soon since they will be increasing the cost if we didn't due to Inflation. The cost offered to IAF was time-bound.

USA infact have cost advantage due to mass production of weapon system but they charge for the decisive edge their weapon system have over other sources.

I just want to say that infrastructure doesn't cost that much atleast not in India. And also what equipment is necessary for these torpedoes. ? You are trying to say that a storage of torpedoes will cost a millions of dollars..?

Boeing completes Apache deliveries to IAF, next batch in 2023

IAF has taken deliveries of All 22 Apache Helicopters after five Apache helicopters which got delayed due to COVID situation have reached India and have been assembled and flown to forward bases at Pathankot and Jorhat air stations. Boeing will deliver six Apache Helicopters meant for the Indian Army in 2023 but both in terms of capabilities IAF and Indian Army version will be identical since it was procured as follow on order from the original deal for 22 which was signed in 2015. Army has decided to go with a different color scheme and will move away from light blue livery seen in the IAF version. Indian Army is keen to acquire 5 more Apache Helicopters under the original contract at the same price since the original contract had follow on order option for 11 helicopters.

Boeing Completes Helicopter Deliveries To The Indian Air Force: Boeing Media
NEW DELHI: Boeing has completed delivery of all new AH-64E Apache and CH-47F(I) Chinook military helicopters to the Indian Air Force (IAF). The final five of the 22 Apache attack helicopters were handed over to the IAF at Air Force Station, Hindan. Earlier in March, Boeing handed over the last five of 15 CH-47F(I) Chinook heavy-lift helicopters to the IAF.

“Customer centricity, commitment to the modernisation and mission-readiness of India’s defence forces are key values to our partnership with India,” said Surendra Ahuja, managing director, Boeing Defence India. “With this delivery of military helicopters, we continue to nurture this partnership and are fully committed to working closely with India’s defence forces to deliver the right value and capabilities to meet their operational needs,” Ahuja added.

India is one of 17 nations to select the Apache and has the most advanced variant, the AH-64E Apache that is also flown by the U.S. and many other countries. The AH-64E Apache is designed and equipped with an open systems architecture including the latest communications, navigation, sensor and weapon systems. It has an improved Modernised Target Acquisition Designation System that provides day, night and all-weather target information, as well as night vision navigation capability. In addition to classifying air and ground targets, the Fire Control Radar has been updated to operate in the maritime environment. It is uniquely suited to meet a commander's needs, including reconnaissance, security, peacekeeping operations, and lethal attack, across myriad environments - without reconfiguration.

Twenty defence forces around the world either have Chinooks in service, or are on contract to receive them. The iconic tandem-rotor helicopter has been the world’s most reliable and efficient heavy-lift helicopter for more than 50 years, allowing customers to operate in climatic (hot), altitude (high), and crosswind conditions that typically keep other helicopters from flying. The CH-47F(I) Chinook contains a modern machined airframe, a common avionics architecture system (CAAS) cockpit, and a digital automatic flight control system (DAFCS). Those innovations and technologies will help the Indian Air Force meet evolving mission demands, maximise interoperability, and reduce life-cycle costs.

The Indian Ministry of Defence finalised its order with Boeing for the production, training and support of 22 AH-64E Apache and 15 CH-47F(I) Chinook helicopters in September 2015. Earlier this year, India and the U.S. signed a contract for the acquisition of six Apaches for the Indian Army during U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to New Delhi.

Boeing’s joint venture in Hyderabad, TATA Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) has been producing Aero-structures for the AH-64 Apache helicopter for both US Army and international customers. TBAL marks a major step towards the co-development of integrated systems in aerospace and defence in India. Boeing’s suppliers in India are manufacturing critical systems and components for the Chinooks, including the crown and tailcone assembly by TATA Advanced Systems and the ramp and aft pylon by Dynamatic Technologies. Boeing today works with over 200 suppliers and partners in the country in support of “Make in India” and “Skill India.”

Boeing Defence India provides holistic life-cycle solutions for government and defence customers in the country. Boeing delivers services that ensure high availability and mission-readiness of platforms to its defence customers at competitive costs through its investments in services infrastructure and building local capabilities and partnerships. With the induction of the Apaches and Chinooks, Boeing anticipates additional opportunities in rotorcraft training and sustainment.

Appache should be a roll model for ALH. New 1200 KN engine is coming up. We should go on incorporating more and more technologies and weapons to make it more deadly. It has a very high T/W ratio which is all set to improve. It will be our trump card in Himalayas. It will work exceedingly well from desert of Rajasthan to heights of Himalayas. We should keep configuring it for Naval application as well. It should be our Brahmos in chopper with all 3 dimensional applications in air, ground and sea.

Sir, I think it will come out from IMRH programme just like LCH came out from Dhruv.

Boeing Delivers Five Apache Combat Helicopters to India Amid Heightened Tensions with China

India has urged its military equipment suppliers to expedite the delivery of weapons systems, as tensions along the 4,057 km Line of Actual Control have escalated since April. The US, France and Russia have agreed to supply military systems within three months once an order is placed, say government sources.

Boeing, which had been contracted to produce Apaches for the Indian Air Force, has announced that all five of the multi-role helicopters have been delivered.

The attack helicopter, in addition to its enhanced ability to shoot 'fire and forget' anti-tank guided missiles, air-to-air missiles, rockets and other ammunition, is also versatile in conducting network-centric aerial combat due to its modern electronic warfare system.

“We’re happy to have completed delivery of the 22 AH 64-E Apache and 15 Chinook helicopters to India,” the company said on Friday. The five helicopters have been delivered in one consignment to the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Hindon air base, near the national capital Delhi. Earlier in March, Boeing handed over the last five of 15 CH-47F (I) Chinook heavy-lift helicopters it had contracted to sell India.

“With this delivery of military helicopters, we continue to nurture this partnership and are fully committed to working closely with India’s defence forces to deliver the right value and capabilities to meet their operational needs,” Surendra Ahuja, managing director, Boeing Defence India said in a statement.

Boeing has delivered nearly 2,500 Apache helicopters to 16 nations to date, including the US, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Greece, Japan, India, Singapore, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.

The American-made helicopters feature two high-performance turboshaft engines and a maximum cruise speed of 284 kilometres per hour. The Apache can carry a maximum of 16 Hellfire missiles, giving it unprecedented firepower.

Last September, the IAF inducted eight Apache helicopters at Pathankot airbase to guard the nation's border with Pakistan.

India finalised its order with Boeing for the production, training and support of 22 AH-64E Apache and 15 CH-47F(I) Chinook helicopters in September 2015. Earlier this year, India and the US signed a contract for the acquisition of six Apaches for the Indian Army during American President Donald Trump’s visit to New Delhi.

The Indian defence ministry has also urged countries like Russia, France and Israel to expedite contractual deliveries of military equipment they'd agreed to undertake in the past. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during his visit to Moscow in June, confirmed that Russia will supply some of the weapon systems to India at an early date.

Indian government sources confirmed to Sputnik that the Quick Reaction surface-to-air missile system will be delivered to India by the Russian firm at an early date. Later this month, the first batch of Rafale fighter jets will also arrive to be deployed along the Chinese border.

India and China have been engaged in a bitter border stand-off in several places, and there diplomatic efforts underway to diffuse the tension amid the withdrawal of troops by the two sides in Ladakh region.
