I have been searching for the original video, the actual presentation by Dr VK Saraswat. Have been unable to find it so far on you tube.

Can you provide the link to this video.

Yes and no

Floating test range is required to test

1. BMD at full desired capability
2. Payloads with widely dispersed RVs spanning a very large geographical area.


Correlate the geography of porkistan and the possible targets. Keeping in mind the above, validating ~ 3 MIRVs with the required dispersion is more than feasible with the existing land based and limited ship based sensors to the desired splash points.

And don't know weather you guys noticed the post boost vehicle in the relevant Agni missiles.
Same where the GNC module is housed , its self explanatory why .

And why DRDO goes to the trouble of doing numerous tests with both depressed and lofted trajectories ?
Is it with regard to the missile itself or the RV(s) or both

Just saying it could be argued that the reduced range test zones (notams) falls within the existing range capability of the land / ship sensors to generate or validate test points pertaining to the you know what.

I had gone through that thread minutely. There weren't any slides on A-5,B-05, K-4, A6 and K-5 missiles.

There was a slide on MIRV and PBV.

You are missing the woods for the trees.
I had only corrected him. I didn't want him to have the false notion of us having tested MIRV back then.
Officially we are yet to test MIRV. although unofficially we may have done a lot of things.

Having said that, I am not against MIRV or having nukes mated to delivery vehicles ready for launch or all those other stuff which peaceniks like to advocate.

I would like to see us having MKV tech operationally deployed even before we officially deploy MIRV.

As far as MIRV tech is concerned, we already have some number of MIRV of a foreign design. Although whether they are operationally deployed or not is not known to me.

As the ACM had said, 'we need to have capabilities because intentions may change overnight'


See we are Indians. And India as a country has reached a level where you have access to strategic tech. Or should I say had access to strategic tech and stuff for quite some time.
Arihant and her siblings are proof of that.

The mindset is not as important as situation. International situation is not very great now. Moreover, all Indian rivals like Pakistan have much inferior technology. If India tests, they will use it as an excuse to test nukes too. But since India is much aheadin technology, India needs only littoe time to get the nukes matured whereas others will need more time. So, it is best to test nukes about 2 year before India intends to use them. This will help mature Indian nukes whileat the same time, not allow others enough time to develop their nukes.

About ASAT, it can be easily simulated by having an imaginary satellite orbit and then launching missile or PSLV striking that coordinate. Maybe we have already done that by now but since it is imaginary orbit, no proof is available. All ASAT vehicles of USA, China etc have struck in the first attempt itself. This shows that the simulation is more than enough

Bhai, screw the situation, we need to be forefront of this, we dont need to be fearful of anyone or think what they are going to do. We need to do what is best for our national interest. Let Pak and other get bankrupt in process. In this new world, might is right. So become mightier.

We need to be 4th country to weaponise Hypersonic missile. Already tough competition in that department, with Russia, US and China far ahead, France and India are competing for 4th place and this need to be done within a decade. We need to build on K15 and K4 with HGV, for hypersonic cruise we need to complete HSTDV and Brahmos 2 with faster rate.

About electronic test of ASAT, we must have done lots of them, even prior to first test of PAD, it was electronic test.

But point is that we need to do ASAT test, so that other come to know that if times comes, we are going to hit their satellites.

MARV may be a single warhead, but also multiple warheads (as US Trident 2)
MIRV is not manoeuvrable.
UGM 133A ie Trident D5 carries the mark 4 or mark 5 MIRV. Trident 2 doesn't carry Marv.

If you think it does then do provide an URL which shows Trident D5 carries MaRV.
Trident D5 's third stage has a PBCS which performs course correction. It is ignited after the third stage motor is ejected.. With this you can actively control the MIRV bus. But each warhead in the bus isn't maneuverable.

The other missile in US service to have MaRV is the Pershing 2. And it was a single 640 kg warhead.

The point here is that ASAT is a simple process. Is ballistic missile can be intercepted, Satellite interception is already a done deal. Other countries like USA, Russia, China etc have done this when the computation was much inferior than present level, showing that it is not hard to make such ASAT vehicle. But India does not have to test it unnecessarily right now. In case of nukes, it is 1950s technology and hence not hard for anyone else to make. It is best to not give opportunity to others for doing a test. Nuke test is best done in last minute as India already has advanced capabilities in nuke manufacturing and it will take very little time to make further progress.

India must first get superiority in conventional arms which is critical in success of warfare. All other method is only useful if the conventional capabilities is good enough. It is important to go in step by step manner than go in inverted process

We do have strong control on Indian ocean and we did carried out test for full 5000kms as claimed but yes 5000 is just a claim and test actually it's range is 8000kms which we delibrately didn't carried out. Agni 6 will be tested for a claimed range of 8000kms but it's being developed for 12000kms range. Both Agni 5 and 6 are actually Surya missiles in garb of Agni name..

We do have strong control on Indian ocean and we did carried out test for full 5000kms as claimed but yes 5000 is just a claim and test actually it's range is 8000kms which we delibrately didn't carried out. Agni 6 will be tested for a claimed range of 8000kms but it's being developed for 12000kms range. Both Agni 5 and 6 are actually Surya missiles in garb of Agni name..
No surya is different, its a bulb....:scared2:

Why they were not named Surya, it's because world is comfortable with that name. Naming those Surya and disclosure of true capabilities would have caused US and Europe anxiety and pissed off with India and they would have created problems for india..

Bet you we have from a decade, since Agni 3...:)
It's so obvious, if we can launch multiple satellites using a single Rocket, into different orbit using launch bus, we can launch multiple RV warheads using single missile into different trajectory to hit different cities. Now check out since when ISRO is launching multiple satellites using PSLV you will know since when we have mirv capabilities....:biggrin2:
