The end result depends on the between processes approved in time. Sadly in our country, between process approval speed is as good as bunty's soap from lifebuoy ad, more so when the end user has given so many rather condescending remarks imo towards Tejasmk2 while simping as hard as he can for MRFA which is understandable and alas the RFI has still not been floated, so Jai mata di, I don't see the first MRFA fighter being inducted in this decade,.

We have already inducted more than we should have due to mmrca and Tejas delay. The design is early 4th gen - late 3rd gen Even with upgrade it wont be at par with Su 35 or Su 57.

We need jets with low operating cost less down time and high availability. 100-200 kn class single/twin engine Tejas /Rafale fits perfectly in that.

Su-30 MKIs with the upgrade package will be a very potent fighter and a match for any J-20 thrown against it. Only F-22, F-35, or Su-57 would do better.

Sorry but j20 is a better stealth aircraft than su57 despite its canards and it's quite hard to fathom any jet with 1-5 m² rcs going against a LO/VLO jet and win head to head.

Su-57 is just another 4.5+ gen fighter. Period. The Russians had to compromise between the money needed to develop a new VLO design from scratch and optimising from the Su-30 family and they choose the latter. IAF jumped out of this project at the first instance they smelled rat
