Saurav jha says mk2 rollout not happening this yr but early nxt yr...ff by 24
I am bit spectacle about sj claims
I know he is a very senior guy and respectable one but he has a habit of being sadistic a lot of times
He becomes very negative regarding these things such as timelines etc typically like dfians
But many are reporting that things may happen on the previously allotted timelines
But again there is a confusion regarding its funding but let's wait for official confirmation
I know we can't be optimistic with the current establishment but still let's be quite and wait

People u are free to doubt him but do know who he met recently
Yeah bro he is very influential and trusted
But few of his tweets regarding Chinese incursion (I don't remember rightly) and also India should fight bcoz even he had broken his hand
Basically he is very pessimistic regarding our programs which is not his fault but our establishment is like that

Indeed. But, their cost is unreal for a relatively poor country like Bharath. Hence cancel MRFA and order larger no.s of relatively cheaper LCA Mk2 and AMCA. Quantity has a quality of its own. Learn from chinks
You can order whatever but nor mk2 nor amca exist to be sold.

The only thing that is available is MMRCA or MRFA.

If it is so readily available then why are we struggling to buy an imported aircraft since 2005?

If it is feared that ADA is on a slippery slope with regards to Mk2 & AMCA then the quickest way to level up capability is to upgrade the huge Sukhoi fleet. A very capable plane which we have inducted in large numbers. Any new Mk1As we order now will go to the back of the 73 production queue currently on order. That is 2030+, Super Sukhoi can happen much before that.

We can use elements from Mk1A/Mk2 to go into that program. In any case it is the favorite test bed of IAF.

Even if we place order today we will be getting Rafale after minimum 3 years of gap .
And you will get a mature project ready to take on enemies right away. If we provide a concrete order they will increase the production rate and delivery will be faster later on.

If you order Mk2 today or tomorrow doesn't make difference since it's not in production anyway.

Porkistan is flying 200 JF-17. We can surely Order 30 more Mk1A

With that we can disengage some more Mirage2k , Su-30 from western front.

1. JF 17 are highly improved evolution of Mig 21 that's how i see them . They are no joke either specially if they can manage better radar and missiles..

2. That's not how the war is fought they will send their best pick against ours and let's say it's Tejas mk1/a vs F-16 blk52 head-on... Then ?

3. They are getting J-10s too. So let's be real also our airforce can not be only Pakistan centric anymore.

What is concrete number for rafale ?
80 ?

If you provide concrete order for MK2. Which should be 200 looking as per our dwindling squadrons, even MK2 can be inducted in the 30 per year numbers after 4-5 years due to huge infusion of Capex.

Then what is the issue ?? 3 vs 8 vs 15 and 3 is smaller than other 2.

Overprice.

Lol that's not how it works... And no matter what there is a decade gap where you need a fighter jet to fill in.

Mig 21 are dusted ... Mig 29 , Mirage barely keeping up . Sukhoi need upgrade. Jaguars just to keep up the number.

What you got Rafale and some mk1a ( constrained by design )

And aircraft production isn't aloo bhaaji that you up that to 30 rightaway and than done with it.

For 30 per year you need more than 300 order and the cost will rise up too due to various factors . Not feasible.

36- should be ordered with a commitment for 18-36 F5 .

7 years to deliver 200 jets is not a small time frame.
It's completely feasible to build such assembly.

We have spent 4 Rafale worth into developing whole LCA PROJECT.

We might've been spending 2 Rafale worth into developing MK2 from MK1.

If people are whinging about dwindling Mirage2k and Jaguar numbers they should be the first to propose Fastracking MK2.

You need to start going through the forum from beginning...

Engine is different , Radar is different , air frame is different and there is not a single prototype flying yet.

France UAE Greece India and everyone who can afford it and allowed to...

Old gen strike plane replaced by a modern strike plane... With true multirole capability.

What's moronic about it ?

China had mig 21 now they got J-10 that's progression.

Lmao, J-10 are not twin engine 250M aircrafts.
Now you got why I said "moronic" ?

You are delusional if you think we can afford.

Lmao load of RUBBISH..

If we can set up facilties for 36*2 engines of rafale.

Then what's the issue to setup for 200+ GE414. maybe + 72 engines of F-18 too.

Radar is no big deal , only more modules are added.
Like AMD's Chiplet design.

Tejas Mk2 initial production will not start before 2028 if First flight by 2022 end. ADA Chief himself had confirmed that testing and validation using 4 LSP jets will last atleast 4 years if everything goes smooth. The rate won't be anywhere near this 30 jets / year that u claimed earlier. Even the slightly different Mk1a rate is 4 jets in 1st year, 8 in 2nd year and 16 from there on. For an even more different Mk2 it will not be so different. Rate will be slow during initial 2 years. Then depending on backlog, HAL may raise it to 24 per year

Did anyone tried asking him that can it be sped up if Govt provide enough funds ??

It can happen by 2026 if they got enough funding and enough hours clocked.

Economy of scale.

Let it be 20 for first 3 years.

Mk1a will be delivered by 2029 from that assembly we can have extra 16 MK2.
