Then I am right. Look at the DDR link you provided. The rendering has canted intakes as oppose to level intakes of the model in display.

DDR tweeted this in Jul 2021. We could clearly see the canted intake similar to what we have seen recently.

This is what has been displayed in AI 21. There is massive difference in what has been showed in AI and what is undergoing test.

You didn't ask it. Someone else did, which I responded.
Took ss of the model u posted pic from youtube..see the intake...same model is displayed in 2nd pic see.

Very very sad state of affairs. Infact poor. Either the design team has made mistakes, making integration tough inspite of having lot of time for design reviews or the govt is not handling enough money. It's very very disappointing. We are heading towards another lost decade.

The centre model in the 2nd pic looks very sleek and hot ! Wish they speed up things and get it ready ASAP for the test flight. If they keep delaying things they're giving UNAF the perfect excuse to not order MK2 and go for phoren maal

Can anyone share a link to any webpage or explain: Why it is going to take 4-5 years for Tejas MK2 to acquire all certifications to become production-ready?
Is it the same across the globe? and what is the exact process and certification required which takes so long?

4-5 years is incredibly ambitious from first flight to be production ready, the Gripen E is taking the best part of a decade to achieve the same. It might be possible to make it happen but they’ll have to take a far roe dynamic approach and allow for rolling approvals, more simultaneous validations and of course the IAF fully committed to it using all their resources to give the project as seamless a testing regime as possible unlike what they have done for the MK.1
